THE NEXT DAY, James woke up alone. His arm wrapped around the place where Roxanne used to be. The pillow she used still having the small indent of where her head was. Tears welled up in his eyes as he realised she was gone.

He turned to his nightstand to gtab his glasses only to see a yellow note laying there. He gently took it and unfolded it.

Thank you for the best three months of my life, Jameson.

Love,
Roxy

He sighed as tears began to brim his eyes. She's gone. He thought to himself. Closing his eyes, he tried to remember the days when she was there. Carefree, happy, before he agreed to the stupid bet and hurt her.

"I have to say Prongs," Sirius said, "I'm quite impressed that Evans finally said yes to you."

"What can I say?" James responded cockily, "not even the great Lily Evans can resist my charms."

Remus only rolled his eyes at his friends' attitude before returning back to his book.

"Nah," Sirius objected, "I'm willing to bet there are girls out there who does not fall for your so-called 'charms.'"

"Is that a bet I hear?" James raised his eyebrow, his smirk not wavering at his friend's doubt.

"I don't think this is a good idea," Peter whispered, unaudible to the two lads in front of him.

"Maybe?" The dark haired boy grinned.

"Prize?"

"Loser has to do the winner's homework until seventh year." Sirius smirked, "Deal?" He said holding out his hand.

"Deal," James said, shaking it.

"The next girl to walk in will be the victim," Sirius said.

The two boys then turned to the entrance, only to see Roxanne walking in. James' eyes widened before turning back to the table hastily.

"I don't think this is a good idea," James whispered.

"Goodluck with my homework then," Sirius whispered back.

"You guys shouldn't play with other people's feelings," Remus warned.

"She's here!" Peter exclaimed.

"What did I miss?" Roxanne asked.

James smacked his palm on his forehead, "stupid!" He groaned. "You're so stupid, James!"

He looked down the note in his hands before sighing, "you just let her slip away, congrats James."

"Are you okay?" A familiar voice said. James' eyes widened before sitting up hurriedly. His hazel eyes landing on a pair of blue ones.
