"What happened since you left?" Emily asked.

"Well, after I left, I met Cameron. Before you ask NOTHING HAPPENED between us. I may or not have uh... stretched the laws. " I reply casually.

"You were in jail, weren't you." Emily deadpans.

"No! I'm rebellious, not stupid. I'll admit I did have several close calls. Now I have a prophecy revolving around me, which is perfect." I say sarcastically. "Enough about me, what about you?"

"Guess who got a scholarship to Baker University!" Emily exclaims.

" No way! you've been wanting to go there forever! Congrats. " I exclaim.

-----------------------------------------------------time skip---------------------------------------------------------------

"Sorry, but we got to go. I'll stop  by on the way back to New York."  I say as I grab my bag.

"No problem. Just.. don't rob anyone." Emily says with a smirk.

" No promises."I say as I mount my motor cycle.

"Get a room you two." jokes Annabeth.

" Oh, shut up Wise Girl." I scowl.

" I should have stayed in Gotham." Jason mutters.

"You know you love us, Jaybird." I tease as we start the engines and drive off.

-----------------------------------------------------time skip---------------------------------------------------------------

I unmounted my bike and look Annabeth straight in the eye.

"I'm going into the gas station to get snacks. Watch over my baby like a hawk." I say referring to my motor cycle.

I stride into Food Mart. I grab some beef jerky, water, and batteries, I walk up to the counter. A man with shaggy black hair, tan skin, and dark blue eyes was behind the counter.

"Hey, what can I do for you beautiful?'' flirts the man.

''Well... Jake, I would like to get these necessities." I say, slightly inpatient, while flashing him my nicest smile.

I looked up at the mirror in the corner of the room. This so called "Jake" wasn't actually Jake. You see, even when you can't see through mist, mirrors usually can. He appeared to be a siren.I froze.

I haven't ever fought a siren before,  but I've watched Supernatural. (a/n: I'm sorry, I had to. Plus, I'm lazy to look up the original lore. Also, I'm not sure if this place even exists. )

Would celestial bronze even work? According to Supernatural, I need a bronze knife soaked in the blood of the person being affected.

"You know what, I've changed my mind. " I exclaim as I start to walk away.

"Not so fast demigod." 'Jake' snarled as he grabbed my wrist. I whipped around and delivered a right hook to it's jaw. "You know, it's a shame I'm going to kill you."

"Then don't." I say through gritted teeth.

" I've got kids you know. Over wise, I would keep you." He says, drawing me close. That's just what I need, a monster trying to seduce me. Note my sarcasm.

"Sorry, your not my type." I snarl as I knee him in the chest and make a break for the door.

"Run, b******, run!" I yell as I run to the bikes. I put on my helmet, and turn on the com system.

"What's the plan?" Jason asks.

"You'll go on a different route and circle around. We're headed to a cliff." I reply.

"What!" exclaims Annabeth.

"Calm down. I used to go cliff diving when I was innocent and reckless. Ok, slightly innocent. Perfectly safe." I reassure. I mean, I haven't died yet, have I?

"That makes since the water should throw off our sense." Annabeth remarks.

Bang! I turn around to see "Jake" and a girl with strawberry blonde hair that looked suspiciously like Gwen.

Both figures had guns in hand. I gave Jason the nod of approval. We sped off in separate directions, the whole time Annabeth was clinging to my waist like her life depended on it. Now that I think about it, if she let go she would die. Not on my watch.

"Here. Be careful. " I say handing her my gun. The cliff was in view. Just a little bit further...

Bang! I heard behind me. That b**** popped my tire! The bike swerved, but I managed to gain control just in time for me and Annabeth to go soaring over the edge of the cliff.

The second we hit the water, I grabbed Annabeth's hand and guided her under. Within twenty seconds, I had lead her to an opening in an underground cave. We both reached the surface, gasping for air.

"This place is beautiful." Annabeth gasped.

"Yeah. I guess Percy's dad isn't all that bad." I say with a small smile. I lift a rock to reveal a severely squished unopened bag of marshmallows. "Here we go. Want any?''

"No thanks. They're probably expired." Annabeth replies with a scowl.

"Whatever makes you sleep at night.'' I exclaim as I opened the bag and shoved a handful into my mouth. Nope... definitely expired. Oh well. You can't just say 'have some candy' and expect me not to eat it.

"It's just sugar, Wise Girl. It won't kill me to eat sugar every six months, even if it is expired."

''Don't eat it!'' Annabeth shrieks and grabs the bag. I look at her like she's slapped me. I tackle her screeching 'my babies' as loud as I dared. Let's just put it this way... today was a very long day.
