10. A Strange Farewell

Slow,
as if drugged.

Blink and miss -
those eyes are open
bottomless wells
of.

Blink and miss -
those eyes are closed
dripping tears
bloody

Hear the earth's
vibrations.
it's spinning under your feet,
everyone.

Drip
drip
drip
d r i p

Slowly. To hear the screams.
Like laughter, like tears, like singing in my ears.
Chorusing, chorusing, chorusing.

Only a whisper, only a flash
only a moment, it's gone all too fast.
Or so they would say.
So they make me pay.

I stand.
I sit.
I walk.
Silent.

Hear words, see sights,
Say nothing til the night.
Where I sleep
in an ocean
of reverberation
in an ocean
of singing.

Singing tainted with blood.

Like a rose, dripping.

Drip
drip
drip
d r i p

A flash
and it is gone.
No more.

Farewell, my dear.
The words that whisper in my dreams.
And still they talk, pointlessly.
Of guilt.
Have I none?
Of sin.
Did I not?
Of being inhuman.
Or maybe being too human -

feeling too much,
too much,
always.

...

Contempt echoing in my ears
I go to my death
at their hands.
They kept their word.

And I will die for what I've done.

The murderer is murdered,
creating another murderer.

Okay, this was really hard to write, so I have no idea if it's actually good or not. Also, it's not meant to reflect anything I actually feel about the death penalty or whatever. I had just this crazy idea and kind of ran with it.

It's also pretty creepy. *shrugs*
