22. Wisps of Childhood

You were standing on the dawn,
With winds across your hair.
You were looking to the sun,
And morning in the air.

Looked like future standing far
beyond the golden light.
Looked like prospect's door ajar
And shining through the night.

You took off for bright tomorrow,
Laughing with the wind.
You had yet to greet dear Sorrow,
Who greets those who sinned.

You were brave beyond the skies,
with hopes above your head.
You knew little of demise,
and nothing of the dead.

You would keep straight to the map,
And follow wisps of faith.
You saw gold in every scrap,
and had no fear of wraiths.

You're the candle in the dark,
alit with simple flames.
You believed in every spark,
and I'd never forget your name.

A simple happy one about friendship and childhood. I'd written this one a long time ago, but I had forgotten about it. :)
