Close Call

***** at Jamba Juice *****

**~**~** Angelique's P.O.V **~**~**

"So what are we gunna do today guys?" I asked all the girls.

"I don't know." Says Kenzie.

"Go for a swim?" Suggests Cordelia.

"That sounds like fun." Says Sophie.

"So should we?" I said.

There was a moment of silence.

"Yeah!" Says Eldoris.

We all laughed and threw away our trash as we headed out through the doors.

***** at the hideout *****

"We all ready?!" I exclaimed.

"You bet!" Said Sophie.

We all jumped in at the same time and darted to Kuipo.

***** at moon pool *****

We all popped out of the water one-by-one.

"Hey guys..." I started to say. "Have your ever been like....in love?"

I turned around to look at them and they kind of had weird faces.

"What?"

"That was random." Said Eldoris.

"Well sorry. It was just a thought. Cuz you hear about people being like really in love and they say it's like the best thing in the whole world and stuff."

"Angelique...." Kenzie started to say add she swam next to me. "Are you thinking about this because of 'you know who'?"

"Uh... Maybe..." I said kind of shyly.

"I know it's hard." She said as she put her hand on my.

"Yeah." Soph started to say. "I know you guys were together for almost 3 years, but you have to try to get over it."

"I know, I know. I have tried." I said as I backed away from the edge of the moon pool.

"Plus, it wasn't his or your fault for the breakup." Said Soph.

"Yeah. You didn't deserve it." Kenzie said.

They both put their heads on my shoulders.

"Yeah..." I said with a sad tone. "But uh...anyway... Can we please change the subject?"

"Sure." Kenzie said.

There was a few moments of silence as we all awkwardly tried to figure out what to talk about.

"Anybody hungry?" Said Eldoris.

We all looked at her and we all burst into laughter.

The laughter calmed down after a little bit.

"Yeah. Let's go eat." I said.

"But let's take our time swimming." Said Kenzie.

We all dove under the water and took our time swimming to land.

***** at seafood restaurant *****

**~**~** Sophie's P.O.V **~**~**

"So what do you guys want?" Said Angelique.

We all ordered our food and drinks and sat down. We started chatting about different things and laughing.

"Yeah." I said. "What did it look like?"

"I don't know. It was like weird." Said Kenzie.

"How so?" Said Cordelia.

"It like.... Looked like a bird or something." Said Kenzie.

We all started laughing.

Next thing you know, I felt something cold and wet spill all over me.

"Oh! I'm sorry!" I heard a voice say.

*GASP*

I jumped up with panic.

"Run!" Yelled Angelique.

I looked around quickly and darted somewhere behind some counters.

*whoosh* *thud*

"Ow!" I said as I landed on my stomach on the floor.

I flipped me and my tail around and looked to make sure no one was coming.

I saw Angelique making her way over with Cordelia following close behind.

There was another person starting to come as well. I pointed my hand and Angelique told Cordelia to stall him for a little bit. Cordelia ran to the man and Angelique ran to me.

"Help me!" I whispered.

"We can't do it here." She said. "People will see."

She peeked over the counter and Cordelia was still stalling the guy.

"I'm going to drag you further." She said. She almost grabbed my hand.

"Wait!" I said, stopping her. "Find gloves or something. I don't want you getting your tail too. One person is enough."

"Oh yeah! Good thinking!" She ran off somewhere and came back a minute later with long yellow dish gloves.

"Let's do this." She said while pulling down the second glove.

She grabbed my hands and dragged me more towards the back.

As soon as we got out of sight, she took of her glove and hovered her hand over my tail.

Steam started rising up and a few second later, I got my legs back.

*whoosh*

She helped me up and took off the other glove.

"Thanks!" I said.

"No problem!" She said smiling. "What are mermaid friends for? Helping other mermaids."

We both laughed and walked out from the back.

We went and sat back down at the table. Cordelia followed behind as well.

"What happened to you guys?" Asked Kenzie as we all sat down.

"Soph got stuck in her tail and I dragged her to the back so I could dry it." I explained.

"Well that was a close call." Said Eldoris.

"Oh yeah it was." I said.

We all started giggling.

"People just need to watch where they're going." Said Cordelia as she took a bite of her prawn while sitting down.

We all laughed.

I just grinned there with a cheesy smile.
