CHAPTER FOUR
WELCOME TO SAWOL, PART 2

If it weren't for the few modern things these people had, Tecna would have said that the village was similar to the villages from way, way back from the 18th century. She could not fathom how they managed to have such devices, so Jenn explained simply as to how they gained them.

"The travelers sometimes bring us these," she clarified. "They'd send us these things to help us in our everyday life."

Physical structures and devices aside, the girls were still shocked to see that Sawol was filled with magicians. Not that the people there were masters (considering there were barely a few master magicians), but nonetheless they were magicians. They used Healing Magic in their clinic, or Basic Magic in building. They used the little and fundamental knowledge they had to do their everyday work.

At some point, Flora began to teach a few people how to harvest better crops or heal wounds better. Tecna would have protested, but Bloom decided that they should spend the time they had and use it to teach people. So they did.

The girls split up after Flora had left. While she was with the healers, Tecna was with the carpenters and builders, telling them how to design better structures and avoid common mistakes. Stella showed the town's tailor how to be creative with clothes and how to choose the right fabrics for the weather. Aisha helped the fishermen and Roxy assisted the shepherd. The musicians from the local pub had a lesson with Musa.

And Bloom? Well, she was the one who pushed them all forward. She's the one who told them to stay determined.

At the end of the day, the girls reassembled in the local bistro, ordering for something to eat while they watched the jolly people dance around to the music.

"Great work, girls!" Bloom said. "We've managed to enlighten the town."

Musa chuckled. "Well, what else can we do with the stuff we learned from Alfea? I mean, we use them to defend and fight, but there's more to it, I guess."

"Passing the knowledge is actually a pretty great idea," replied Tecna. "It's not that we keep these lessons to ourselves, it's just that we managed to teach these people that they have more than they thought they had."

"It's like opening their potential," added Flora.

The waiter arrived with their food. He swished by and placed the tray down, the scent of good food catching the girls' attention.

"Food for our miladies," he mused. "Enjoy, girls."

He left with a wink. Stella just fluttered her eyes back, cueing a sigh from the girls. She already had a fiancé, and yet here she is, flirting. The man was quite charming, but...

"Oh, girls!" The blonde cried. "I would be rude if I hadn't responded!"

An eyeroll is done by Musa and Tecna. The reason was too irrational for them.

Nonetheless, they all ate together as they told each other their experience whilst teaching.

"The healers have learned so much now," began Flora. "Now that they know how to calm down patients, it would be more convenient for them to remove anything that pains them."

"That sounds great!" Aisha commented, swallowing her salmon. "My fishermen can finally catch fish properly, even in stronger waves!"

Roxy chuckled. "Sure, but they won't compare to the shepherds. They can calm the raging sheep now since I taught them how to sense the root of their worries better."

"Well, my pupil knows how to use wool for the cold weather," Stella quipped as she sipped her glass of water. "If the sheep's wool ever gets to the tailor, that is."

"Hey, let's not forget that I told these people how to play their heart out," said Musa as she glanced at the musicians. "I figured that if they put more emotion to the songs they play, their performance would make an astonishing concert group!"

"They will need the right place for a concert," mused Tecna. "The builders can create better structures in the future, you'll see. They learned from the best."

Bloom giggled at how they told their stories. There wasn't any competition in this, but the hint of it made their experience sound wonderful. Of course, not as wonderful as they are as fairies and what they've been through. They've done so much to protect this dimension...

She smiled. No matter how much they've been through, they had been solid. Not just as a group, but as friends. Their friendship was the most important thing above everything else. Their integrity had kept them together and alive, no matter the test. That, to her, was something she valued so much.

After finishing their food and telling stories between the meal, they all paid for the food and turned to leave. As they did, however, one of the villagers didn't let them.

"Leaving so soon?" Asked the lady in an indigo dress, her voice almost inaudible through the loud music. "I ought that you should have fun for the night! Stay for a while, young ladies!"

"We have to leave by morning tomorrow," Bloom explained. "We've a mission to accomplish in Mt. Ebott."

The other girl gasped. "Oh, a mission to Ebott? But legends say that whoever climbs the mountain never return! You can't possibly risk yourselves to the beasts who live under the mountain!"

Everyone stops, even the musicians, once they heard this. The happy atmosphere suddenly shifted to a scared silence. The people look at the Winx in confusion, disbelief and fear.

Roxy sighed. Here we go again, she thought, expecting the same scene from earlier unfold again. Luckily, Jenn was still around, so she placed herself between the girls and shouted, "WAIT!"

Her yell took everyone by surprise when she interfered. All eyes went to her as she began to speak. "Don't you see? These girls are sent by their Headmaster--"

"Headmistress," Tecna corrected. Jenn gave her a quick 'thank you' before continuing.

"--or Headmistress, rather, to save these monsters from the cursed barrier!"

"But those monsters were a threat to our kind!" One man stated. "They do not deserve to co-exist with us here on the Surface!"

Jenn had no other arguments, but she remembered what Tecna said. "For how many years has it been since the War?"

"Years has passed, so many years," answered a middle-aged woman. "What is your point?"

"Her point," continued Flora, "is that it's been a long time and if it really has been, they would have thought of their actions and regret it! They would do anything to see the sun again!"

"But we have no assurance about that!" Yelled another man. "We don't know if they'd repent, much less spare a human!"

Bloom's determination didn't falter as she spoke through the crowd, "Then you will have to trust us in this."

Her strong, firm voice silenced everyone in the bistro. Even Jenn was in awe. Her determination to free these beasts from a long-time curse... it filled her with kindness.

Their arguments were not valid to her, much less Tecna. In fact, to Bloom, it was like they were giving her and her friends more reasons to prove them wrong. They gave them more reasons that they should break the curse and change the myth. That they should do what they must and restore the peace they once had together.

That was the mission entrusted to them by Faragonda, after all.

After a moment of silence, a mage came out of the crowd. Locks of raven black hair were tied up into a ponytail by a turquoise ribbon. Her cape flowed along with her, shimmering with teal as the light revealed its color. Clothes of cyan adorned her, complimenting her clear blue eyes.

"So the saviors have come," she voiced. "Our patience has been rewarded."
