"Hello my children, I'm home."

"Welcome home father." We bowed respectfully to him and went to hug him after he turned into his human form. Even in his human form you could feel the power flowing out of him.

"Blake, Lolita, I have missed you." We looked up at him and smiled. Many people are scared of our father, but that is only because they only know him as the grim reaper. As our father, he is completely different.

"Dad, how was your trip?"

"Busy son. What about you? How have you been doing with your reaper training?"

"Great. I can now summon spirits."

"Excellent! What about you Lolita, have you uncovered any new abilities?" I looked at Blake. He was looking at the floor pissed off. He knows I've unlocked more abilities, and he hates hearing dad say how great a reaper I'll be.

"Not yet dad, sorry." He looked at me confused at first, but understood what I just did.

"That's OK. You did uncover them early, that's enough for now." I smiled and looked over at Blake. He mouthed 'thank you' to me, I mouthed 'no problem'.

"My love, let's go get Lenore. We could all go out for dinner tonight. It has been a long time since you have been home." She placed a hand on his shoulder and he placed his on top of her. He looked up at her and smiled.

"That sounds like a wonderful Idea." Many people might not understand why my mother gave up her wings for our dad. But if you see how in love they are, it's easy to understand.

We went to pick Lenore up and I could see everyone staring at us. This happens every time we leave the house like this. Because my mother was once an angel she is beyond beautiful, and my father gives of this pheromone that attracts people to him. He calls it the reapers scent. He uses it when he has a person who's soul he has to collect, but they put up a fight. And it also has to do with the fact that they look like they just stepped out of a magazine cover.

"Hello I am here to pick up my daughter Lenore."

"Yes Mr.Reaper, right away." You would think with our last name being Reaper someone would put two and two together.

Once we picked up Lenore we all headed to a fancy restaurant, the owner there has a deal with my father so we always eat for free. We sit at our normal table and I notice that the waiter's life counter runs out today.

"Father?"

"Yes Lolita, you figured it out." He picked this restaurant only because he has to collect the waiter's soul today. I ripped trough my right contact and saw exactly how he was going to die. It was like watching a movie play out in front of me in slow motion. He was gonna trip, causing another waiter to spill the soup on a costumer, which will cause him to hit the table, causing the man carrying all the used silverware to drop a knife on the waiters back.

"I am impressed Lolita, you have unlocked the ability to see exactly how someone will die."

"Congratulations sweet heart. But please stop ripping trough your contacts, it is very hard to get you new pairs."

"Yes mother." On cue, the whole thing happened. I heard the screams  of everyone who just saw what happened. They saw the blood, but we saw the man's spirit looking at his body. I already saw my dad standing next to the man in his reaper form. Dad took the man and helped him pass to the other side, moments later dad was back next to us.

"That was cool dad."

"Thank you son." I couldn't stop looking  at the scene in front of us. While everyone else was screaming, or crying, we were enjoying our appetizers. We have been desensitized to things like this since we were babies. In all honesty we were born without that emotion, we cannot feel sorrow for those who have left this world. I looked at my family eat without even looking towards the dead man, and the scene that was playing in front of us. The only thing that worried me more about the fact that I couldn't feel sorrow for that man, is the fact that Lenore actually had a smile on her face. She looked like she was almost enjoying watching this.

"Lenore, what's so funny?"

"Blood. So much blood." That's right, she likes blood. When she was a baby she broke a birds neck and giggled because she thought it was funny. She saw the blood on her hands and smile, blood was actually her first word.

We finished eating and headed home. The whole car ride no one said anything, it was so silent I could actually hear everyone's breathing. I looked out the window and saw all the spirits my father still had to collect. Something was causing so many souls to appear, they weren't all even suppose to die yet. Either there's a deadly virus going on, or a serial Killer. You would think being grim reapers, serial killers would be our favorite people, but that's not true. My father has a system, and every human in the world is a part of that system. He plans out exactly how each person is suppose to die, so if a serial killer messes with that system...let's just say I'm glad I'm not on that end of my father's scythe.

I head to my room and pull out my phone, I have a text from Teresa. She heard my dad was back home and wanted me to say hi for her. She really is a strange girl, but I'm glad I have someone to talk to about this.

"Hey sis?" I looked up from my phone and saw Blake standing next to my door.

"What?"

"Can I come in?" I patted the spot next to me, and he walked in shutting the door behind him. He sat down and looked around my room. Unlike other girls, my room is plane. I never really saw the point in bands or other normal teenage girl stuff, so my room is pretty simple.

"What's on your mind Blake?"

"You should already know. Why didn't you tell dad about all your new abilities?" I looked into his eyes. Since we are reapers, we don't die. Just like me, he dosen't have a life counter either.

"I don't see the point in telling him, that's all."

"Don't give me that. If you tell dad now you would be the next grim reaper, no problem. So why didn't you tell him?" I sighed and laid back on my bed. He laid next to me and we looked up at the ceiling like we did when we were little.

"Honestly? I don't know if I'm ready to be the next grim reaper." I saw him look at me.

"Why is that?"

"I like how things are now. I like feeling normal, and I don't know if I wanna give that up yet. Today when we saw dad do his thing, I couldn't help but notice how powerful dad really is. He can take the souls of humans without it affecting him. Mom is so used to it she doesn't even flinch even though she was an angel. Lenore smiles and laughs when she sees blood, and we are so desensitized we don't even react. Can you honestly tell me you're ready for that?" I looked at him and he was now staring at the ceiling.

"I think I am. Being the grim reaper is all I've ever wanted to be, I don't know what else I would do if I didn't becoming it. That's why I get mad when you unlock a new ability, because I feel like my chances at being the reaper are getting smaller and smaller." So that's why. Even if I don't become the reaper, I know what I want to do. I never stopped to think that maybe Blake wanted it that badly.

"Bro. Do you really wanna know how many powers I've unlocked?" We both sat up and looked at each other. He looked so serious, he almost looked exactly like dad.

"I do." I got up and walked over towards my desk, and pulled out a black book then walked back towards him. I gave him the book and he just looked at it confused.

"What's this?"

"That book holds all the abilities I've unlocked, and what they do." He looked back at the size of it, and his jaw almost hit the ground.

"Sis...IT'S LIKE A FREAKING ENCYCLOPEDIA!" He looked at me and started laughing. "You are more than able to become the reaper, I-I give up." He put the book down and started heading for my door. I grabbed his arm and he turned to look at me. He lucked crushed.

"Here." I handed my book back to him.

"What's this for?"

"Study it. Learn all my abilities and try to unlock them. When the time comes, I want to be able to fight you..on an even playing filed." He looked at me for a second, then smiled. I smiled back at him and we hugged,

"Thank you little sister."

"No problem big brother." If being the reaper meant that much to him, I wasn't gonna crush his dream that soon. The only reason I've unlocked so many abilities is because I get bored. If the next reaper was gonna be one of us, I want to battle for the title like dad planed. I don't wanna have to crush my brothers dreams....not yet anyway.
