Shouto Todoroki | Why Him?

'Why is she like this?' thought Todoroki as he watches you laugh with Midoriya about some joke Midoriya made. For a couple of weeks or so, Todoroki Shouto has developed feelings for you but every time he sees you, you're always hanging around with Midoriya. He didn't had anything against Midoriya, it was just, why would you hang around him so much. It made him feel like his heart was being clenched by a hand of jealousy. But he didn't know that.

"Alright, take your seats. Today we have an assignment where you'll have to do a bunch of hero deeds in the public. When you're doing these deeds, keep in mind the age of the citizen and their gender. As a hero, fighting villains isn't the only thing a hero does. They must help the public in any way possible. Any questions? Nope? Okay. Your groups are written up on the board. Dismissed" Aizawa-sensei said as he slowly disappears in the sleeping bag as the bell ring signaling dismissal.

Taking a glance at the board, Todoroki spotted his name. As much as he was happy and excited for the members in the group, the hand clenched harder.

(F/N), Midoriya, Todoroki

It was like the board was laughing at him. Telling him that no matter what, Midoriya will always be a step ahead of him. Grabbing his books, Todoroki forcefully shoved them in his bag.

"Todoroki-kun!" a light-hearted voice called. Looking up from his bag, he spotted you with a huge smile across your face. Slyly, a faint blush made it's way up to his face.

"Yes (L/N)" he calmly says. Or at least tried too.

"Say, me and Midoriya are going to head out do this assignment right now. Are you available to come with us?" you ask. Thinking about it, he nodded since he didn't trust his voice enough to say something properly. Clapping your hands gleefully, you grabbed Midoriya and Todoroki's arm and began pulling them towards the entrance.

Arriving at the entrance, it was like you forgot about Todoroki completely. While you were immersed in your conversation with Midoriya, Todoroki quietly tagged along from behind. He was invited to join the conversation but, he'd have nothing to say.

Todoroki really wanted to push Midoriya away from you. He was taking up so much of your attention that you stopped noticing Todoroki. It was to the point where you forgot that Todoroki was there at all. And Todoroki hated it. In the beginning, you wouldn't shut up about how cool the 'Son of Endeavor' is. He didn't like you then. Correction, he began to develop feelings for you then, it was just that being called 'Son of Endeavor' ticked him off so much he pushed you away.

Thinking about it now, Todoroki did deserve it. He doesn't deserve your attention at all. After all, it's payback right. He pushed you aside and now you're doing it for him. Karma's a bitch, a real bad one.

But, he still couldn't help but fall in love with you. He could have you, he really could. It's just that you seem to ignore him for Midoriya. Only one question lingered in his mind, 'why him?'

Todoroki has no idea how much time has passed or where the conversation has lead to but suddenly Midoriya stopped in front of a super market.

"Oh yeah, I forgot. My mom asked me to buy some groceries for dinner tonight" Midoriya says quietly as he scratched the back of his head.

"Oh that's alright. Todoroki-kun and I will do our part of the assignment" you replied with a reassuring smile. Oh how Todoroki loved that smile. But it should shown only to him, not Midoriya.

"Ok bye (F/N)! Bye Todoroki!" waved Midoriya as he disappeared into the super market. After waving you and Todoroki continued walking.

It was silent for a long time. Despite standing side by side, the two of you didn't say a word to each other. To be quite frank, Todoroki wasn't in the mood to talk to you. You seemed to only give your attention to Midoriya, it was like wasn't he enough.

"Todoroki? What's wrong? This whole time, you had a scary expression. It was like you were glaring the whole time. But that glare was mainly directed to Midoriya-kun. What's wrong? Why are you so mad at him?" you finally spoke up. Looking up, he relaxed his face.

"So you're ignoring me now huh?" you said with a hint of anger.

"You're the last person that tell me that" Todoroki retorted back. Turning his face, his eyes were met with yours. Your eyes looking at his with disbelief.

"Excuse me? You said that I'm the last person to tell you that you've been ignoring me? Said the one who ignored my question about you glaring at Midoriya! So here's a simpler question. Why him?" you were fuming now. Todoroki hasn't said nor done much. But being angry at Midoriya somehow made you extremely pissed.

"That's the question I've been asking myself. Why are you giving so much attention to him when I'm right here. Why are giving so much attention to him that it makes my heart so painful" said Todoroki as he places a hand on his heart.

"You have no idea how much my heart has been hurting because of you and Midoriya. Always being together, laughing together. What is it that I lack that he doesn't? Why him?" tears were on the verge of spilling. That hand of jealousy is now crushing his heart, making him hard to breathe.

"Todoroki-kun, do you... happen to like me?" you ask quietly. Suddenly, a wave of guilty splashed through you. What he just said is staying in you mind like glue.

"What if I say yes" he replies back barely above a whisper. Not aware of your close presence, Todoroki was ready for you reject him. But something entirely different happened.

He felt your hand hold his jawline. All the nerves he had set off like fireworks at your touch. It was so gentle like he was something so fragile.

Standing there, Todoroki didn't know what to do. That hand of jealousy was replaced with the fist of excitement and nervousness. Anticipation. Dread. Suspicion. It was punching his heart, making it beat faster than before.

"I would be glad" you whisper has you gently press your lips against him. Trying to remain calm, Todoroki was shocked. More of your words than the kiss.

"I've loved you, since forever" you said once you broke off the kiss.

"But why did-" he started before you cut him off.

"Because I wanted you to realize, to realize that you're more than the 'Son of Endeavor.' You're beautiful inside and out. More than anything, it makes me fall in love with you every second that passes" you said.

"No, why did you hang out with Midoriya so much if you liked me?" Todoroki asks with a serious expression.

"What do you mean?" you question back, not knowing what he meant.

"Every time you were hanging out with Midoriya, it made my heart hurt so much" he places a hand on his chest where his heart is. Placing your hand on his hand, you gave a small smile.

"I'm sorry I made you feel that way. I'm sorry that I made you jealous. I didn't know that-" you began rambling.

"It's okay, I have you now" he smiled gently as he places a kiss on your forehead.

Well since summer break is here, I will try to make more frequent updates but don't mark my words. I'm not trustworthy XD.
