New Beginnings

I always dreamed of this moment. That moment where I knew I'd spend eternity with him.

Him.

I remember the day his beautiful green eyes locked with mine. I was never one to believe in love at first sight. But with him,it was different.

I felt like I met my other half. My soul mate. I had fallen hopelessly in love,living and breathing off the feeling I got when I was around him. He was my highschool sweetheart,and I was proud to say we were together to this day.

I looked down at the perfect ring adorning my left ring finger. Fear crept into my small body and I prayed to god that Derek would still feel the same. I didn't know what I would do if he left me,not only did I have myself to support,

But I also had this small being who was counting on me aswell.

I looked around our small home. I remember the day we brought all of our things here. Picking out the curtains and dishes. I remember when we made love for the first time in our new home.

I remember waking up the next morning,Derek making breakfast.

And when he proposed.

Tears built up in my eyes,hoping that he wouldn't leave me after he found out. Derek and I always spoke of starting a family. I never thought that it would be this soon.

I was setting up the table when Derek returned. My tense frame relaxed when he wrapped his arms around me and placed a soft kiss on my neck.

"Love,"he whispered,"this looks amazing. I love you"

"I love you too"I whisper.

When we finish eating,Derek opens his arms,silently asking me to come to him.

Jesus help me.

I slowly pad over to him,sitting on his lap. His strong arms wrapped around me,I shut my eyes. Tears threatened to fall,I couldn't cry.

Not yet atleast.

"Derek?"I whispered.

"Yes baby?"

I slightly cringed at his words. Hoping that our discussion about the "baby" topic wouldn't completely go downhill.

"I..I have something to tell you"I sat up,leaning away slightly so I could see his face.

"Babe,whats wrong?"his beautiful green eyes clouded with worry.

"Derek I..I'm..we're.."

"Babe,spit it out already. You're starting to worry me"his deep voice sounded panicked.

"I love you ok? Please don't be mad at me"I whispered.

"Y/n spit it out"

"Derek. I'm pregnant"I whispered.
