Life was finally back on track.

Until it wasn't.

You had finally gotten over the heartbreak of finding out the guy you were dating and had fallen in love with was just using you and your friends to kill your brother and take his power.

He'd been gone for months and not having to see him made getting over him that much easier.

Or so you thought.

"Scott! What the hell is up with everyone? Why can I no-."Your words died on the tip of your tongue when your brown eyes landed on the very guy that was plaguing your thoughts.

Blue eyes met your chocolate ones, your chest tightening at the wave of emotions that hit you. "I-you. No."

"Baby girl."His smooth voice made you tremble,a choked sob breaking his heart along with everyone else's who stood in your kitchen.

"Don't."You flinched at his reaching out to you. "Don't call me that."

Scott stepped in front of you protectively, growling when he heard you cry.

"I-I can't be here."You turned and ran out of your house, running until you were far from the boy that broke your heart.

Night fell and you still hadn't left the diner you sat in. You wiped the tear that slid down your cheek, your eyes staring at the little jukebox on the table.

"Please dad. Just one more."You whined, jutting your bottom lip and batting your big brown eyes at your father.

He sighed in defeat, knowing there was no way he could resist those eyes.

"Fine. Just one princess."He placed the quarter in your small hand, the corners of his eyes crinkling as he smiled at your cheer. You quickly inserted the coin and pressed the song you would play over and over when he brought you and your brother to the diner for milkshakes.

He watched you twirl around the diner, smiling and singing along as you danced about between the tables. Scott was focused on finishing his chocolate shake, while you danced and sang.

"Dance with me daddy."You grabbed the man's large hand, pulling him to stand.

He laughed and scooped you up,spinning you around while you laughed in his arms.

"You're the best dance partner daddy."You beamed up at him when he put you down, hands still holding yours. He had to squat considerably to be able to dance with your 7 year old self, but nothing beat the huge grin on your face showcasing the missing and incoming teeth. Ultimately deciding to just scoop you up and spin around with you in his arms, smiling when you let out a fit of giggles.

"I wouldn't wanna dance with anyone else princess."

You sniffled as you stared at the strawberry shake in front of you. You had lots of happy memories with your father, you were quite the daddy's girl growing up.

Until that went to shit just like everything else.

"Hey there princess."You heard a familiar voice. The tall man it belonged to slid into the booth next to you.

"Hi daddy."You sighed, letting him pull you into his side. "How'd you know I was here?"

"Scott was worried about finding you when I got home. Said you were sad and ran out of the house,I told him I'd find you."

"You remembered."You mumbled, leaning your head on his shoulder.

"Never forgot."He laughed, grabbing another straw to place in the shake. "Now what's got my princess sad?"
