"C'mon, girls. Soundcheck starts in ten minutes," Will said. Normani sighed. You were supposed to be here an hour ago and you weren't answering any of her texts.

"Mani." Normani was snapped out of her trance when she heard Lauren call her name. "We're heading to the stage. What's wrong?" Lauren asked, placing a hand on Normani's shoulder. "Y/n was supposed to be here over an hour ago," Normani explained with a frown. "Maybe he's stuck in traffic," Lauren tried, attempting to sooth the obviously worried girl. "He isn't answering his phone either," Normani said, trying to calm down but obviously not succeeding as she teared up a little.

"C'mon, let's go to soundcheck. He'll probably show up while we're out there." Normani nodded at Lauren's words, trying to convince herself that you were just stuck in traffic and ignoring the turning in her stomach.

"Now we're gonna start the Q&A. You guys can raise your hands if you have a question and there's a crew member coming around with a mic," Ally explained to the small crowd. The fans all raised their hands as the crew member picked one and started walking towards her. Normani couldn't help but keep looking backstage, hoping she would see you standing there, but every time she looked she just saw crew members.

She sighed deeply, the unsettling feeling in her stomach not going unnoticed. She started to tear up again, putting her head down to calm herself down. She didn't want to cry onstage. She looked up when Camila placed a hand on her thigh with raised eyebrows. Normani sent her a small smile as if to say she was okay, that was a lie.

When soundcheck was over Normani rushed to their dressing room to check her phone, praying that you texted her back. She let out another frustrated sigh when she only saw one notification from Instagram and a missed call from a random number she didn't recognize. Normani knew she had to calm down. She wasn't going to be able to perform if she was on the verge of breaking down.

She sat down and ran a hand over her face, looking up when she heard the girls enter the room. "Mani... he still hasn't texted?" Lauren asked, earning a shake of the head from the upset girl. "It's been almost two hours..." Mani said as Dinah sat next to her to comfort her.

"Um... girls." The girls all looked up when they heard Will's voice. "Normani, can I have a word with you?" Will asked, instantly making the Normani's mind go to worst case scenarios.  "Why can't we talk in front of them?" Normani asked. She really needed them, or she would break down.

Will let out a sigh, walking into the room and closing the door behind him. "We just got a call from the South Fulton Medical Center. They said they called but you didn't answer. You need to get down there as soon as possible," Will said. Tears immediately started falling from Normani's eyes. "Did they say anything else?" Normani asked as the girls started helping her get ready. "They said they couldn't give us any information because we aren't immediate family. You're Y/n's emergency contact though," Will explained, making Normani's whole world come crashing down.

"Come on. I'll drive you. It's about fifteen minutes away," Will told her as the girls said their goodbyes, promising to be there as soon as they could.

"You better fucking step on it," Normani said as she buckled her seat belt, watching as Will threw the car in drive and pulled out of the parking lot.

The two were at the hospital in a little over five minutes because Will took Normani's threats very seriously. "Tell them you're his wife. I don't know if they'll be able to tell you anything if you just say girlfriend," Will told Normani as he parked the car. Normani nodded, quickly running into the hospital.

"Y/n Y/ln?" Normani frantically asked the lady at the front desk. "What are you to him?" The woman asked back as she typed his name into her computer. "Wife. My name is Normani. I should be marked as his emergency contact," Normani lied. "Yes, you are. He's currently in surgery, but he'll be transferred to Room 578 as soon as he's out, which should be very soon," the receptionist said, confusing Normani even further.

"Surgery? Can you please tell me what's going on? I thought surgery can't be performed without the consent of immediate family?" Normani asked. "Apparently he was conscious enough at the scene to be aware of what was going on. It was preformed at his consent. I can call someone to take you to his room, Mrs. Y/ln."

Normani felt like she was waiting there for forever before someone came to led her to the room. When she finally reached the hospital room she saw a doctor and nurse speaking outside of the door.

"Dr. Gonzales. This is Mrs. Y/ln," the staff member spoke, before walking off. "Mrs. Y/ln. Y/n isn't conscious right now but he's stable and very lucky," the doctor told her, only adding to her confusion. "Could you possibly explain what happened?" She asked, feeling slightly relieved at the doctors words.

"He was in a car accident. The driver of the other car wasn't sober to say the least. He was struck in the middle of an intersection. He didn't have many significant injuries aside from his concussion and his leg. The surgery we just finished was to save his leg, which was pinned in between the door and his seat. We also had to insert a rod and multiple screws to stabilize the break in his femur. That's all explained in his medical reports. I'm sure you'd like to see him?" The doctor finished up. Normani immediately nodded. "Please, stay calm. He looks a lot worse than he is," the doctor said before opening the door.

Normani's heart sped up as she walked into the room, immediately hearing the beeping of the heart monitor. "Oh! You're awake," Normani heard the doctor say. She felt tears come to her eyes when she saw how badly bruised and swollen your whole body was. The tears started to fall when your droopy eyes met her teary ones. The doctor asked you a few questions, all of them being answered with either a nod or a shake of the head. When he was finished, the doctor sent a small smile to both of you before exiting the room.

"Don't ever scare me like that again," Normani choked out as she held your bruised hand. "I'm sorry," she heard your scratchy voice speak up. Normani leaned down and placed a kiss on your forehead, avoiding the small cuts that were all over your face.

Normani laid next to you on the hospital bed, thanking God you were okay. "Don't you have a show?" Normani heard your hoarse voice speak up. "The girls are preforming without me," she said as she grabbed a water bottle from her bag, helping you take a few sips to soothe your throat. You leaned your head back and closed your eyes, feeling Normani's gaze as she studied you.

"I love you," you mumbled as you dozed off.

"I love you too," Normani sighed out as she laid her head on your shoulder.
