Before I leave the cafe I could hear footsteps behind me. I look around to see Gene running up to me. "Wait! (Y/N)!" Gene yelled. Once he made it next to my car, he leaned down. "(Y/N), I was- I was wonder- if- you.." Gene starts. I raised an eyebrow. "Um Gene? Catch your breath first." I said putting a hand on his shoulder.
Once he was able to breath again, He stood up straight. He let out a breath, "Okay, sorry." I giggle, "It's fine, just say what you wanted to say." He looks at me straight in the eye.
"I was wondering if you wanted to go on a date." He finally says. I stare at him, "What?" He looks down. "It's fine if you can't. You're probably really busy and-" I start laughing. "Did I say something wrong..?" He smiles. "No, but. Of course I'll go on a date with you Gene." I smiled back.
"Wait really?" He said. "Gene, Yes." I replied. He seemed very happy about my response. He even hugged me, really tight might I add. I hugged back of course. "Uh, Right!" He pulled back. "I'll text you when and," Gene started to walk backwards. "I'll see you later!" He winks.
