"Ian I did something stupid again," Max's voice was quiet and tender, like he had been crying.

"What did you do?" Ian's heart was pounding. His mind instantly jumped to the worst of conclusions.

"I-I ran away," Max confessed.

Ian let out a breath of relief. "Where are you?"

"Uh how far are you from the airport?"

"You did not." Ian knew what Max was hinting but he was in pure disbelief.

"I did." Max was disappointed. He thought Ian would be excited to see him in person but Ian didn't sound very excited at all. "Can you pick me up?"

"I'll be there in a few minutes."
