Drew POV
The rain is pouring down on us as we sprint to the Pokemon center. We finished up a partner contest, which we won, and decided to go to dinner and a walk in the opposite direction of the nearest Pokemon center
Big mistake
I use one of my hands to brush my green hair out of my eyes as my other hand is clutched to my rivals small hand.
Finally in what seems like forever we get to the Pokemon Center drenched in a mixture of rain and sweat from running across town
I ask for a one bedroom room while my rival is talking to another trainer who participated in the contest
When I go over to May I tell her there were no other rooms left. The truth is I want to sleep close to her tonight, we've done it before when we had to so it's not a huge deal for us. I just love holding her in my arms. Any opportune moment I get to be closer to her, I take.
When we get to the room I let her take the first shower as I want time to ponder over my thoughts a bit. I sit down on a chair as I think of the times we shared traveling together.
Asking her to come with me on my journey through Johto was one of the best moves I've ever made.
I got to really spend time with her and get to know her more. When I started traveling with her I got to see her amazing personality and well, I fell In love with it.
I thought she was a foolish over confident trainer at first. Yea that may have been slightly true but, I never would've imagined the girl I saw throwing frisbees to her pokemon in preparation for her first contest would be be my biggest rival.
And ultimately being the girl I fell for.
We're rivals, May and I. She surpassed Solidad a long long time ago. She exhilarates me in battle and she makes me use every ounce of my strength because she is not an easy person to beat.
When she battles me I want her to be amazed and dazzled. I strive to see her impressed at what my Pokémon and I can do. I put my whole heart into our battles so I can try and win.
It makes me feel proud when she comes up to me and complements me because frankly no other complements matter.
But, when she wins however I feel so much happier contrary to when I win
When she wins she lets out a smile, a real big smile of accomplishment and happiness.
When she wins all of her hard work gets recognised and I know that means the world to her.
I emerge from my thoughts when a door creeks open and I see her come out in one of my faded pastel green t-shirts that goes to her knees
She looks adorable
When she stretches upward I see she's wearing a pair of short black shorts
Her feet are adorned with a small pair of black ankle socks and her damp hair is put in a loose side braid
She catches me staring and faintly blushes and mumbles that she's done in the bathroom.
I give her a smile and walk into the bathroom. I take a really hot shower to soothe my cold aching muscles.
Once I'm done, I put on a pair of black socks and some loose, faded, light green sweatpants
I walk in the room to get a bottle of water and out of the corner of my eye I see her blush, most likely because I didn't wear a shirt
I smile to myself
I'll always be grateful for her presence in my life and the impact she had on it. I was arrogant, prideful at first and now I've changed. I've changed and became a better coordinator, a better Pokémon trainer, and a better person.
But of course I'll never tell her that. I just have a feeling she knows.
I meet her on the bed, lay down, and wrap my arms around her waist as she lays her head on my chest
I let out a content sigh
Right now I don't need to think of anything else that is gonna happen
Because right now I'm exactly where I want to be
