Alex's POV

We weren't even finished watching RENT, and I was already tearing up. I glanced over at John and saw him tearing up as well. Hasn't he seen this before? Why does it still affect him like that? Is everyone like that? I pushed the thought to the back of my mind as I went back to watching the movie with John and a bunch of invisible Broadway fans that I could hear crying. Every once in a while, I'd hear one make a comment. I didn't know whether or not to be scared.

By the time the movie was over, John turned to me. "So what did you think?"

"I liked it," I signed.

"Only liked? Nothing more?"

"Okay, maybe more than like."

"I knew you'd love it. And if you enjoyed that one, prepare for Les Mis." He grabbed that from the top of his stack of musicals.

"Are we watching all of those today?" I asked when he was facing me again.

"As many as we can. And then we're watching the rest later."

"Okay then."

He nodded and sat back down next to me, playing the movie. Unlike RENT, this one was all singing. I didn't know which I liked better. I watched, absolutely intrigued by the storyline. Again, John and the invisible people got emotional with me, and I still didn't understand that. Do people usually cry every time they watch a sad part in a movie they've seen before? I guess it didn't really matter. So I just watched silently as the movie ended and we started another one.

This one had a pretty good plot as well. About a bunch of paperboys going on strike while one of them really wanted to go to Santa Fe. Like that guy in RENT. What was up with these musicals and Santa Fe? And just like with the before movies, I listened as John and the Broadway Spirits, as I've started calling them, sang every word with every song. Some were quietly singing while others sounded like they were singing as loud as they could. By the time that one ended, I decided to ask "Do you hear the people singing too?" When I signed that, I heard them singing that song from Les Mis again.

"Yeah, they show up every time I watch these. I've learned to roll with it."

"Okay..." At least I wasn't the only one hearing them. That would be a sign of going insane. Or maybe we were both insane. What if everyone was insane, and the people that we think are insane are actually the few normal people? No. Nope. Stop with those thoughts right now.

I watched as John put in yet another movie. The Sound of Music? And so we just watched a bunch of musicals all day. And night. John didn't make me go to bed tonight because both of us just kept wanting to go to the next movie the moment one ended. And the next thing we knew, the sun was rising.

"Well okay then," John said, looking out the window. "Man, I don't want to go to class. I am so far behind."

"I could help you catch up."

"Alex. The only class we share is History."

"So? That doesn't mean I can't help."

"Exactly how much do you know about Marine Biology?"

"More than you know." I smiled sweetly at him.

"Oh really?"

"Yes. I know more than you think. I could also help with your math class if you want. The others, you'll have to go to the others for help."

"I could just talk to Sam about Marine Biology though."

"Oh, so you don't want my help? I see how it is." I faked a look of sadness.
