My 17 year old daughter was visiting today. It had been so long since she was last here. She won't say much as to why just that it was demigod stuff. So currently I was running around making sure everything was perfect.

Annabeth would be here any minute. I picked up Legos and toy cars and helped my wife with cooking. Finally it was time.

I waited for the doorbell. A few minutes past and it sounded. I called to the boys and Helen. They all joined me in the living room. I opened the doors to see Annabeth standing there with a boy. Annabeth was taller and looked more mature.

Her grey eyes held a sadness that had not been there before. The boy by her had messy black hair and green eyes. He seemed familiar, he must be the friend she was bring with her. I hugged my daughter and welcomed them in.

"Dad you've met Percy before." She gestured to the younger man. Percy? The scrawny 13 year old had grown up drastically. He had defined muscles on a slim build. He was tall and carried himself with a easy authority.

"Nice to meet you again sir." He gave a crooked smile and stool out his hand for me to shake. I took his hand and to my surprise his grip was firm and confident. I didn't miss the same broken look in his eyes as my daughter's.

I also saw a tattoo on his arm. "Is that a tattoo?" I asked. The boy smiled shyly.

"Demigod thing. Long, long story." His voice was tired. I decided to let it go for now.

"Well dinner is ready." Helen said, she was still tense. She lead us to the dinning room where everything was laid out. We all sat down and began eating.

Bobby and Matthew questioned Annabeth and Percy. We found out he was good at sword fighting and that he was a son of Poseidon. Matthew and Bobby begged him to control some water.

"Is that okay with you?" Percy looked to my wife and I. I gave an uneasy nod. "Ok, well." Percy smiled as the pitcher that held water on the table had all of the water just float out.

The water started spinning making a ball then moving to different shapes. Bobby and Matthew looked totally enthralled and had huge grins on their faces. Percy had the water circle around both boy's heads and make tiny crown rest on them. After that the water went to Annabeth where is sat like a crown, even more detailed. Annabeth looked over at Percy and smiled. Then the water made an outline of a heart and floated over both him and Annabeth. Next was a bunch of tiny heart flying around Annabeth.

Annabeth giggled and told him to put the water back. He did as told and kept smiling. Annabeth kissed his cheek and smiled at him.

My mind went blank. My daughter was dating... Was dating him? Bobby and Matthew had no problems with this and just said Percy was awesome and that Annabeth better keep him because they liked him. I couldn't stand for this. I saw Helen eyeing the water like she was going to dump it out as soon as she could.

After an awkward dinner I pulled my daughter over away from the others. Currently Percy had one boy in each arm carrying them around like they could fly.

"Um Annabeth. I don't know if I approve of you and this Percy boy." As soon as the words leave my mouth Annabeth turns cold.

"Percy had been their for me through everything. What in Hades could you possibly have against him?" Her voice was like ice. I had to be careful.

"He doesn't seem like the type that's right for you is all. I'm worried that he will end up hurting you." I think I messed up.

"Percy had literally walked through hell with me. He got taken away from me once, his memory was taken as well, you want to know what the one thing he remembered was. The one thing he knew besides his own name? That I was real and that I loved him and that he loved me. Percy is one of, if not the best person I have ever met. My fatal flaw is Pride. His, his is loyalty. If you think for a moment he would break my heart after everything we've been through I think you need to have your brain checked." Annabeth rolled her shoulders trying to maintain her temper.

"B-but..." I still didn't like it.

Annabeth held up her left hand. On her ring finger sat a sliver band that twisted around a beautiful pearl. The sliver was flecked with more pearls. "This is a promise ring." She said. "And guess what. Neither one of us is ever going to break our promise to each other. We promised we would never again be separated. You aren't changing that dad."

And with that Annabeth walked over to where Percy was playing with the boys. She kissed him on the cheek and whispered in his ear. He kissed her cheek and nodded.

"Alright boys. I got to go. I'll make sure to check in every once in a while K?" The boys whined about him leaving. "Hey! No whining. I promised I would come back. I don't break promises. If you boys want I'll even swear it on the River Styx." After the boys nodded sadly he continued. "I swear on the river Styx that I will come back and hang out with you two." Thunder rumbled and the boys looked a little less sad.

"Bye boys." Annabeth hugged them  and headed to the door. Percy ruffled the boys' hair and followed Annabeth.

Maybe he was alright after all...
