-[Y/N] Pov-
Mr. Washington is facing away from us.

"You wanna pull yourself together?" He asks us.

"We're sorry, these Virginians are birds of a feather," Alex says.

"Young man, I'm from Virginia. So, watch your mouth," Washington says.

"So we let congress get held hostage by the south?" I ask.

"You need the votes," He says.

"No, we need bold strokes, we NEED this plan!" Alex yells.

"No, you need to convince more folks," Washington says.

"Well, James Madison won't talk to us. That's a nonstarter," Alex retaliated.

"Aahhh, winning was easy, young man, governing's harder," Washington says.

"They're being intransigent," I tell him.

"You have to find a compromise," he says back.

"But they don't have a plan, they just hate ours!" I yell.

"Convince them otherwise," he says.

"What happens if we don't get congressional approval?" Alex asks.

"I imagine they'll call for your removal," Washington says.

"Sir-" Alex starts.

"Figure it out, Alexander. That's an order from your commander," Washington cuts Alex off. We walk out. The rest of the day is boring. When I get back to John's house I decide to apologize for the way I treated him. I can see why he was mad.

I walk in and close the door. I see John sitting on the couch reading a book. He looks up.

"Hey [Y/N], I'm surprised you didn't go back to Alex's house," he says. "You're probably still mad at me though. So there's really no use in talking."

"I'm sorry," I say. He stands up.

"It speaks!" He yells. I roll my eyes and chuckle. He laughs. "Anyways, what're you sorry for?"

"I'm sorry for being so mean to you," I responded.

"Eh, I don't care. But yeah, it's fine. I was mean to you, so I deserved it. Don't think I'm still not mad at your past job. But that past is the past, I'd rather live in the moment than in the past," he smiles. I hug him.

"Thank you for forgiving me," I tell him. He hugs me back.

"It's no problem, really," he says. We stop hugging and I plop down on the couch.

"Anyways, work was exhausting," I said. John sits down next to me.

"What happened?" John asked.

"Thomas Jefferson happened," I said.

"Explain," he said.

Hellohellohello! If you haven't noticed, I've been doing this book all week! I'm taking a break from my other book, I'm still taking breaks on Wednesday though. Anyways, I started listening to Amélie. It's soooo good. Alright, I'll see y'all later, BAII!!
