"A-are you sure?" I asked in a daze.

Dr Limmon held her composure as she nodded her head delicately, "I assure you Mariah the results are quit accurate and just to be sure we tested three times and each gave the exact same result."

I didn't know what to say or how to feel, a wave of uncertainty washed over me.

"Should I call Patrick back for you?" She asked gently.

I looked at her once more in a zoned out state of mind before shaking my head, "n-no, I'll fill him in." I smiled.

We finished up with the visit and I was released shortly after...and oddly I felt a sense of relief.

"That took a little longer than I expected." He said as he greeted me upon reentering the waiting area.

I smiled upon seeing him and shrugged, "sorry, ready to go?"

He kissed me and smiled and we left shortly after.

"Hey I'm sorry but I'm not gonna be able to make it to dinner tonight..." Patrick said as he pulled up to the front of my house.

"I really wanted to talk to you." I admitted.

"Well what's up Duchess?"

I sighed, "I wanted to tell you in a more set up space...not your car." I sighed.

"Well can it wait until I get back on Sunday?"

"Sunday?" I asked a little sadly.

"Yeah, Braxton and Ryder are going away on urgent business this weekend and Brax is leaving me and Vance in charge." He sounded almost pridefully. "Vance will take care of the pack here but I'm gonna run things with Elite and keep up the patrols around our pack borders, but being in charge means i'll personally have to run patrols out by the lake house too, nothing major though."

"Major enough for you to have to leave for the weekend."

He kissed my forehead, "protocol...plus don't you have a girls weekend planned?"

I had forgotten all about it, after my trip to the doctors office I sort of had a one track mind.

"Y-yeah...girls weekend." I sounded, my thoughts still wrapped up in the results.

"So your talk can wait until Sunday right?"

I looked at him and saw the familiar carefree glint in his eyes...it had been gone for awhile and only recently returned.

"Of course." I couldn't help the fact that I wanted to tell him but I also knew I didn't want to just lay this on him right before he'd have to go away.

"Call me later before you go to bed." He sounded as I finally exited his car.

I nodded and waved as I watched his car drive away.

"So no mark?" I asked cooly as I helped fill up a bowl with potato chips.

Elise shook her head, "not that I can see...and I should definitely be able to see, we all should to be honest."

"Okay, tell me again how we should be able to see her mark but nobody is suppose to see our marks?" I sounded confused.

Elise pulled out some sodas and we walked them into her living room, "like I said Were-guys mark their mates, you said Patrick marked your hip." I nodded.

"Come to mention it...you've never said where your mark is."

She rolled her eyes. "Not that you NEED to know you pest, but it's on my left tit."
