•Chapter 21- How Y/n and Karma Met

Your POV
I stared up at my bed room ceiling in the complete darkness. The feelings different when this place is empty and you know no one is coming back versus just being alone here not needing to think about that...

The area next to me lit up and I felt around for the cause of the light. Once I had finally grabbed the device I brought it in front of my face to see what had caused my phone to light up. 2 messages from 🍒Cherry. I unlocked my phone and went to my messages.

🍒Cherry: Hey.

🍒Cherry: Are you okay?

🐈Me: Yeah, I'm fine

🍒Cherry: Truthfully?

🐈Me: Truuuth! Pwomise!

🍒Cherry: Just making sure... Goodnight Y/n~neko, see you tomorrow

🐈Me: Goodnight =-w-=

I clicked my phone off and placed the electronic where it was previously. Staring back at the ceiling just to make sure a creepy hand wasn't there to bring me to the beginning of the dungeon. (A/n- I doubt anyone will get this videogame reference, so I'll just tell you it's from Zelda) my eyes began to close and I let myself drift off to sleep.

I slept a dreamless sleep and upon waking up I sighed. I had woken up early which wasn't required for the next two weeks. But instead of going back to sleep I got ready giving me about 10 minutes to spare when I was done. Maybe I'll just be early today... Deciding on that I left the house.

Before completely existing my yard I felt the need to check if there was any mail in the mailbox. In fact there was. The sender's address was from Kiyose, Tokyo, Japan. I looked around to see if it said who it was from and in the bottom right corner I saw the words, 'From, Otousan'. Choosing that I should save the letter for later I slipped it into my school bag.

I made the short walk to school and entering the classroom I saw just five people. If there's only five people that's when you know you're early. Among those five people were Rio and Kaede. I went over to them. "Hi Rio~chan, Kaede~chan!" I greeted. "O-hayo Y-/n~chan~" They said broken up. The way they said that... They've done somethimg or are up to something....

"Remember how we visited this psychic person's booth on our trip in Kyoto?" Kaede questioned. "Yes..?" I answered with uncertainty. "Kaede~chan told me about how that person said they could see the red string of fate between you and Karma~kun." Why me? Why doesn't Cherry get pestered by these things from the boys? "Do you two really believe in the 'Red Thread of Fate'? You two really are hopeless." I sighed.

"But it's clear you two were destined." Rio pouted. "We met because of our parents and became friends, I don't see how the red string of fate has anything to do with that even if it was real." I claimed. "You say you met because of your parents.... In what circumstances did both of your parents have to meet?" Kaede asked.

"Y/n, the people we have to talk with has a boy that's your age, do you want to come with? You could make a new friend!" Mom asked. "Yeah! I wanna come with!" I grinned at her. "I'm already ready so I'll help you get ready." I bounced up and down. "I'm excited! You're the best okaasan!" I raced up the stairs as mom followed.

"Hello M/n~san, (Mother name) F/n~san (Father name), come in." A woman with mid-length brown hair with mercury colored orbs. We entered the house and I scanned the area, it was huge. As I looked around I saw a boy with red hair standing at the end of the hallway that led to a room. I felt a hand on my shoulder and I looked up. "That's the boy I was telling you about, go introduce yourself." I gave mom a nod and ran to the end of the hallway.

"Hi! I'm L/n Y/n! What's your name?" The boy gave me an uninterested look. "Hmf." Was his only response and he looked away from me. "Nice to meet you, 'Hmf'." I giggled. "That's not my name, baka." I frowned at him. "That's not very nice!" I pouted. The boy who I had yet to learn the name of walked away. "This means war!! I will be friends with that meanie beanie! My first ever friend!" I chased after the boy.

"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to make you mad!" I apologized. The boy turned around. "No... I'm sorry for being mean..." The boy looked down clearly ashamed. "Hmm... It's okay! So what is your name anyways?" I asked. "Akabane Karma." He replied. "Cool name! This may be too soon but... Friends?" I asked hopefully. "I've never had a friend before..." He said. "Me either..." I replied. "It's time to change that! L/n~chan, you're now my first friend ever!" He stated. "Yayy!!!" I cheered raising a fist in the air.

"To my lair!" He shouted grabbing my hand and going up the stairs. "To your lair!"

"I was about to say, I don't remember me being a jerk." I slightly jumped at Karma's sudden appearance.

"So it didn't originally start as you two being best friends until that point in the day... Your story sounded really cute! I can't believe you can remember something from such a long time ago!" Kaede exclaimed. "Yeah... Y/n~neko can't remember things that have have happened recently but she can remember something that happened the summer before primary school started." Karma snickered.

"At least that let's me remember when you were a small and defenseless. Remember who taught you a few self-defense techniques." I grinned. "You couldn't protect a statue." Karma said rolling his eyes. "I'm rethinking my past decisions... Maybe I should've left you for your tormentors..."

I walked through the school gate and gazed at the mostly empty school yard. I was most likely late. I scanned the area until I saw two tall boys, upper class men, facing the wall. 'They know the school, maybe they can help me!' I scrambled over to the two boys. "Hellooo! Do you know where room 1-A is? It's my first day..." The boys turned around and I saw a beat up looking Akabane~kun.

"What happened to my... Did you do this to my friend?!" I shouted. One of the boys bent doiwn to me level. "We'll show you where your class is, just say nothing about what you saw and the same thi-" I kicked the boy's leg and aimed again and kicked his nuts. The boy screamed in agony and fell to the ground. "You evil first year kid... You're gonna get it for messing with my fr-"

"All of you! It is not free time! Get to your class rooms right now!" A teacher appeared outside and scolded. "Gomen sensei... These older kids hurt my friend and I was trying to help him...." I stated. "Boys, I'd like you to tell your sensei about what you've done. And if you decide not to, I'll make sure to give the principal a note." The boy that was standing up widened his eyes, helped his friend up, then ran into the school building.

"You both look like you're new to the school, I can help you find your class. But I'll take your friend to the nurse's office, come with."

"I could've handled the situation myself sooner or later." Karma stated. "That's what your ego tells you to believe." I sighed. "What do you mean by ego?" He questioned. "Your ego's boundaries are so far that since you can't see it you forget you have an ego." I replied.

"Well, a washtub hits his head every minute or so since his bug-" Fuwa overheard the conversation and a wrecking ball could be heard so I covered her mouth. "Shh... The fourth wall Fuwa~chan. Think about the fourth wall. I hear it breaking." I hissed into her ear.

Two different universes with the same people could've collided just now... Scary stuff...
