Chapter 14: Elevator*

"Get off me" I groaned, trying to get Shauna off my bad leg since this morning. She's been too scared to get around Lumiose since Trevor and Tierno said they were going to check out the city to see what's been going on. Calem had to leave when Dexio, in his mask, arrived and asked him to go with him. Having no choice, Calem had to leave and promised me on his return. Not that I cared as much, but hating how I promised I'd meet him in a café, I'm trying to get Shauna off me so she doesn't think too much of us spending all this time together. Not that I've been trying to stay with this guy since the day we left town

"You can't leave me alone in this city! You're the strongest girl I know! Please let me stay with you until the boys come back!" I groaned and sat back down on the couch for her to relieve herself and sit next to me "yay!" She rested her head on my shoulder happily

"Nothing is going to happen to you here, Shauna. We're in the safest place possible. Will you get off me? We're not friends, remember? I'm not going to protect you" she grabbed my arm to whine, but jumped back when I groaned in pain

"Sophia! Are you okay?" I rubbed my elbow painfully, trying to hide the uncomfortable look on my face "are you injured..? When did this happen?" I ignored her, making her sigh "say... since we're pretty good at talking now" what is she talking about? She reached for the coffee table to pick up the egg Sycamore offered me "how come you're refusing to accept anything anyone gives you, even Serena's Fennekin? And a egg!" Sina walked into the room before I had the chance to say something

"Sophia?" Sina called

"What do you want?" I scoffed annoyed

"May we talk downstairs? Shauna, stay here please. Just until the boys come back"

"Oh... okay" Shauna frowned, watching me leave her and make my way to the elevator with this fake girl who keeps taking out her hand mirror to check her make up

"I want to start by knowing how exactly did you know we were the defenders of kalos?" She started

"Oh please, did you really think your disguise was that good? My sister talks a lot about her friends, even shows me pictures. When she talked about the defenders of Kalos and showed me who they were, it didn't take long to figure out who they really were behind those mask"

"It's hard to believe Serena, a sweet girl like her, can be your sister. We didn't know what you meant back in the route... this is what you meant" I leaned in the wall

"We have our differences, just because we're related doesn't mean we have to be the same"

"That's true..." she looked up at the numbers "she's been missing for over a month, and I heard you came all the way here just for her" she looked back at me "if you're deciding to continue your search with Calem, I'm going to tell you what I tell all his friends, be careful"

"You don't have to tell me anything, I can take care of myself"

"That's not what I mean-"

"Shut up" I sighed, finding her voice annoying "you're irritating me. Why did you need to talk to me for?" She glanced away, staying quiet

"You know... Calem is the reason why Serena disappeared"

"Yeah, so?" She looked at me surprised

"You know?"

"He told me, and I honestly don't care. If he didn't physically touch her, he's not my problem. I have my ways of knowing who's lying to me. He's not guilty of being responsible for her not coming home"

"But you can't just make assumptions, what if he did do it?!" I cupped my eyes, growing more annoyed by the second! "you seem to like him a lot. What if he lied about not getting to the place on time and he just took her and hid her away?" I stayed quiet, hoping she'd shut up "how much do you really know about the guy? You shouldn't be trusting people too much"
