Chapter 44: Hospital*

I opened my eyes to see Sylveon standing on my chest, staring down at me

"Sylvy ..." Sylveon cheered and jumped on my lap so I can sit up

"Sophie!" Calem gasped on a chair next to my bed. Where even am I? I look like I'm in some kind of mansion "you're okay!"

"Of course I am, you idiot... where am I?"

"Rebecca's house, remember?" Oh right... we were in front of her house before I suddenly drifted off when seeing my red eyed reflection appeared. I must've fell asleep at that moment

"Oh right..." I leaned on my legs and looked back at him "what happened?"

"I don't know... you suddenly just fell asleep. You've been like this for several days" several days? But the dream wasn't even that long! What could have I seen that I don't remember? "The doctor said you're completely fine, but probably exhausted for some reason. Have you gotten enough sleep?"

"Not really... it was pretty cold on the way here to Anistar City, and camping out was really uncomfortable" he nodded

"I knew you were uncomfortable, but I didn't think it was a good idea to keep you warm 'cause of what I did before" he looked down "I-I'm sorry I did that to you. I couldn't help myself. I just couldn't stand hearing you in there, crying by yourself" I looked down

"It's okay... I was just in shock is all" he took my hand and rubbed his thumb on it softly "where is Rebecca..?"

"Well" he looked at my Pokémon, and Pichu seems to be missing "she's actually at the hospital right now"

"Hospital?"

"Her grandfather is close to passing away... Haunter can feel it. I can feel it..." oh? "she wanted to apologize for not giving us the chance to have that breakfast you wanted, but if you're feeling alright, we can go to the hospital when you're ready. Pichu is over there as well"

"Pichu? Why?"

"Pichu got curious and went to look around the house. It ran into the old man who Rebecca said was depressed because his wife passed, and the man asked if it was okay to play with Pichu for a bit. It lifted his spirits up for awhile until his body gave out" he stood and pulled on my hand "how are you feeling now?" I looked at Z. It nodded and levitated me

"I'm pretty weak right now, but let's go anyways" he nodded and faced his back towards me. Z placed me on top of him

"We can get something to eat over there if you want" he fixed me up and went to the door, seeing Romeo about to knock. He lowered his hand and smiled

"Looks like the princess is awake!"

"What are you doing here?"

"Apparently Rebecca and this guy are cousins. What do I expect? They're rich after all" Calem shrugged. Romeo chuckled and lifted a tray of food I didn't see before

"I first came here because I heard of Becky's return, but when I found out you were involved and in a sudden coma, I've been here ever since. I got some food for Calem like I've been doing for a few days now, but he always leaves it cold, trying to see if you'd wake up before he eats it all" Calem closed his eyes

"I haven't ate at all. I let Haunter eat it all" Romeo sweat dropped "how about you wrap that up and meet us at the hospital"

"Oh... right" I smiled at Romeo, shocking him, and Calem hurried to take me to the hospital with my Pokémon following behind. The hospital was a long way from the city, so we actually had to hop on a train to get there.

My hands were shaking, thinking about what that man is trying to pull... Calem rubbed my knee, trying to calm me down

"Want to talk about what's on your mind?"
