Chapter 34: Paralyzed*

"Sophie!!" Calem shook my shoulders "wake up!" I slowly opened my eyes, watching him panicking over my body "wake up!" I opened my eyes completely to look at him. He sighed in relief with a smile "f-finally..." Calem... "it didn't kill you yet! I got lucky that I found you on time!" I couldn't move my arms, anything... "that Absol from before brought me here! I was lucky I didn't get attacked though!" He tried joking, but noticed I wasn't moving "Sophie?" He lightly slapped my cheeks, I just laid there completely lifeless, staring at nothing, wondering why I couldn't move "oh no... it got too far! Blink if you can hear me!" I blinked slowly "thank Arceus!" He carried me bridal style and stormed out the house, running me through what I remembered would be route 14, where I could see many many graves around the place before seeing sunlight flash me. I looked up to see the sky, warm and welcoming unlike those woods...

It didn't take long for us to arrive at the Pokémon center and get me into a emergency room. I glanced down to see Calem shouting towards me while Shauna, out of nowhere, held him back from following me.

Doctors were checking my vision and my muscles to see what was wrong with me. I had to listen carefully to instructions on where I was looking and blink for responds. During the time, my mind would often drift off, since my body was so weak, I've gotten tired and fell half asleep. I could still hear the doctors finally calm down and set me down on a comfy bed, diagnosing me with sleep paralysis and that I will be fine once my body wakes up

My eyes, after awhile, finally opened in a hospital room. I glanced down to see Calem and Shauna talking to each other "where was she?!" Shauna asked

"Why does it matter? She's safe now, isn't she?" He held a emotionless face as always

"That's not the point! Look at how skinny she is!" I'm skinny? "It's like the life had been sucked out of her! You tell me where she was right now!" He didn't say anything "it's not fair that you're keeping secrets from me! Sophia's been missing for a week! We were close to telling her mom!" My eyes widened. A week..? "I've known you longer than anyone! And I'm tired of keeping quiet! I don't want to hear your excuses! You tell me what you know right now!"

"Shauna..." Calem looked down, shaking and reaching for his pocket. I knew what he was reaching for... I still couldn't move!

Mirror me appeared right on the edge of my bed, staring at the situation and Shauna still yelling at him to talk

The effects of sleep paralysis is that the body may be sleeping, the mind is fully aware of what's going on, though because the body is asleep, you'll see something in the real world that's not really there "Wanna know something else?" Mirror me said "there's no one else Calem really cares about... he will kill her without hesitation if she keeps talking" I kept pushing and pushing the more he brought out the knife completely out in sight and in his hands

My body was finally able to move, and I reached to grab his hand at the same time he was ready to stand. The touch of my hand on him froze him, letting me move his armed hand towards his neck and bring him close. Shauna gasped and stepped back, seeing the knife on his hand and me holding him with a deadly look in my eye

"Sophia!" Shauna gasped

"S-Sophie..?" Calem sat frozen

"Don't touch her" I said. He dropped the knife and looked down

"I'm sorry" I released him and slide to the edge of the bed, reaching out for my bag where B was sleeping. I flicked its body to awaken and have it jump my face in excitement. It often does this if I haven't seen it in awhile. I'm sure it was worried this whole time
