Ice cream dates

I finished my simple makeup look by applying a coat of mascara to my eyelashes. I was wearing a simple gray t-shirt, black leggings, and black converses. I had my hair up in a pony tail to keep it out of my face, and because it felt like the hell outside. I walked out of my bathroom and grabbed my phone to see a text from Shawn.

Shawn❤️- be there in about 5 minutes

Knowing Shawn, 5 minutes meant 10, so I still had a little time. I decided to finish some homework that I hadn't done, and was due soon. (Honestly me.) I was finishing my last math problem when the doorbell rang. I could feel the butterflies flutter in my stomach excitedly.

Today was Wednesday, which is what Shawn and I call "we've made it half way through the week, so we deserve ice cream." It's something we've done ever since we got our drivers licenses. It started off like a friendly date type thing, but now that Shawn and I are together it's considered an actual date.

"Yes ma'am." I heard Shawn's voice echo from downstairs.

"Well I hope you guys have fun." I heard my mom say as I made my way downstairs. Shawn looked up at me when I stopped at the bottom of the stairs.

"Hey babe." Shawn said before pecking my lips. I kissed back but pulled away remembering my mom was standing right beside us.

"Not too much fun though," she warned pointing a finger and me and Shawn. I could feel my cheeks heat up, and Shawn laughed.

"I'll be home at the usual time." I said opening the front door.

"Okay, love you guys." She said.

"Love you too." Shawn and I said at the same time as we walked out of the house.

"You ready for some ice cream?" Shawn asked opening the car door for me.

"Ugh yeah." I said as I put in my seat belt. Shawn smiled before closing the door.

"2 cookies and cream." Shawn ordered as he pulled a five out of his leather wallet. The lady scooped the ice cream into the bowls and handed them to Shawn, he handed her the 5 and waited for his change. Shawn gave me my ice cream and stuffed the change back into his wallet before walking with me to find a table.

"How was your day?" Shawn asked as he ate a spoonful of ice cream.

I shrugged, "it was okay, nothing exciting happened." I said trying to hide my excitement.

"Are you sure about that?" Shawn asked with a smirk.

I laughed knowing he knew I was lying, "Lindsay and Brad are finally together! You have no idea how happy I am for them." I said feeling happy for my two friends.

"Bout time, it took him 3 years to ask her out." Shawn said looking down at his cup.

"Yeah, well I'm still happy for them." I took a bite of my ice cream before asking, "how was yours?"

"Good." He said. I nodded and we finished our ice cream.

"Vampire diaries or greys anatomy?" I asked looking over at Shawn.

"Uh," he brought his hand up to his chin thinking about what we should watch, "greys." He finally decided. I clicked on it, and let it play the episode we hadn't finished.

"I love you so much." Shawn said randomly as he wrapped his arm around me and pulled me close to his body.

"I love you too." I said looking up at him and placing a kiss on his cheek. He pulled the soft blanket over us before kissing me softly. This was the perfect way to end our ice cream date.
