Looolllll did you really think I forgot about this mini series?

"So," my best friend lindsay leaned forward on the desk, "are you going to the dance?"

I hadn't even thought about the school dance. It was filled with couples or girls twerking to every song and making sure to record it on snapchat.

"I don't think so," I shook my head as I wrote my name on the paper we were doing in groups.

"Oh come on," she said in an annoyed tone, "Conner and I are going and you need to." She said making me look up. She tucked a strand of her blonde hair behind her ear before looking down at the paper with her emerald colored eyes.

"Cause I just want to third wheel the whole time with Conner sticks his tongue down your throat," I rolled my eyes, "I think I'll pass."

"Suit yourself." She said before reading the first question on the paper.

I collapsed onto the bed and sighed. I would be lying if I said I didn't want to go to the dance, but if I go I want a date. I don't want to look like a loner. I shook my head to stop thinking about it and picked up my laptop and started catching up on all my favorite YouTubers.

After about an hour of watching videos my phone started to ring. I looked down at my phone to see that Shawn was calling. My heart started to beat faster as I answered.

"Hey," I said smiling a little.

"Hey, are you busy?" His raspy voice filled my ears.

"No, why?" I asked closing my laptop and flipping over on my stomach.

"Well," he started, "you see I'm watching this beautiful sunset all by myself and it'a kind of lonely up here." He said making my lips curl into a smile.

"I'm on my way."

I looked up from the last step to see Shawn in a black hoodie. He was sitting on the edge with his feet dangling off the side of the building.

"You look lonely." I said. He turned his head to look at me. When he saw me his lips curved into a smile.

I walked over beside him and sat down. The seven o'clock bumper to bumper traffic was beneath us, lights flipping on in buildings and restaurants flipping on the 'open,' sign surrounded us.

The sky was a mixture of pinks and oranges as the big ball of fire set over the horizon of pine trees. The air was cool and crisp. It bit at my pale cheeks turning them a rosy tone.

"You look cold," Shawn said as I shivered.

I shook my head, "I'm fine."

Shawn took the hoodie that he was wearing over his head and handed it to me.

"I don't want you to be cold." I said shaking my head.

"I'm not," he said laughing a little.

I smiled and took the sweatshirt from his hands. His cologne lingered on the warm clothing. It filled my nose as I put it on. It was huge on me, but so comfy.

"Thank you." I said looking over at him. He turned his head away from the sight and looked down at me. His chocolate brown eyes meeting mine.

"You're welcome." He said before wrapping his arm around me and pulling me close to him.

After a comfortable silence fell over us we watched the sun completely set and the moon replace it. Stars filled the dark sky over us.

"Y/n," he said my name causing me to lift my head off his shoulder to look at him, "Would you like to go to the dance with me?"

I smiled and felt heat rise to my cheeks, "of course I would."
