     ~*~ Chapter Five ~*~

After a few more days had passed, I decided it was okay to tell Amber and Aqua about the stall locks.

"So is that why you've been acting weird?" Aqua asked.

"Yeah, I didn't want you guys to run and tell your parents." I said, still refusing to make eye contact. I was wondering when someone was going to ask me how long Gale has known.

As promised, Amber asked, "So how long has he known?"

"Why the emphasis on me?" asked Gale, walking into my room with four Coca Colas.

"Come on," said Aqua, "it's no secret she likes you the best."

With that came a long moment of silence.

Finally, Amber said, "So are you sure he's a Subbie?"

I said, "Not absolutely, but almost positive." As far as the next three days of school were, I hadn't seen the mysterius boy again.

Aqua said, "I say tomorrow after school we track him." Being half wolf, our pack had a strong connection to other packmates, even those who have been banished.

"Gale?" Amber was looking over at Gale, staring intently out of my window.

"Come look." He said, not moving his gaze from whatever it was he was so interested in.

We moved towards the window to look. Amber gasped as the rest of us just stared in astonishment. There, in my driveway, was a wolf made of copper. He stood about half the size as I am in wolf form. I was studying his strange matalic coat as he turned to look at the forest. He looked back at us, raised his head, and howled.

"Lilian?" I heard my mother ask from the end of the hall.

"Yeah?" I replied, still staring at the copper wolf.

"What have I told you about shifting in the house?"

"Not to." I said, trying to get her to go away.

Just then, a light caught my eye. Running up from inside the woods was a wolf engulfed with flames. The copper wolf turned around and saw the wolf, then turned back to stare at us.

"Is that my dad?" Amber asked.

It was a rhetorical question. All Elementals could tell which wolf was who even when we all were wolves.

The Fire Elemental jumped up, biting the copper wolf on the flank. I couldn't believe what I was watching. As the Elemental, the Subbie closed his eyes hard, and began to rust. From head to toe he began to become covered in what seemed to be red dust.

Amber was already at the door, begining to smoke.

"Dad!" she yelled from the stairs.

The next moment, a Water and two more Fire Elementals lept onto the Metal Subbie. Amber lunged for the Subbie's throat, but was caught off gaurd when then Subbie rammed itself into her.

"We gotta help!" I yelled, getting up from the bed.

Before I heard their reply, I bounded down the stairs. I knew they had followed becuase I could hear them behind me. We ran out the front door, with my parents following. By the time we reached the battle, we were all wolves.

Lily, take Aqua and Gale into the woods and report whether or not the Sub-Elemental has reinforcements, my dad thought to me.

But we gotta help Amber! I protested.

You can as soon as you do what I say, He thought.

Fine, I thought, shutting off my thoughts from him.

Gale, run to the north about two miles. Howl if there are other Subbies and try not to ingage in battle until we arrive.

Ok. Don't get hurt, he thought.

I'll go east, Aqua thought. She was a blue wolf completely made of water. Her ruff was constant waves which formed her face.

Cool, I'm going west, I said.

With that we went our separate ways, and I heard a terrible unfamiliar howl rise in front of me.
