~*~ Chapter Six ~*~
I stopped in my tracks as another wolf, this one a metalic silver metal, lept from behind the brush in front of me.
Who are you? I demanded to her in my mind.
Who are YOU? She mocked, Obviously not a Sub-Elemental. She began to look me up and down, assessing my strength.
Obviously... I thought, wanting the end conversation. More important things had to be done between us.
As if she heard the thoughts I had blocked from her, she lept and bit deep into my ruff. I heard the matallic cling of me ramming her into a tree as Aqua and Amber ran to my aid. They began to pin her against the tree as hard as they could, and I warped the vines and branches to tie her down. As Amber and Aqua began to let go, the tree's branches began to be coated in the same rust the first Metal Subbie had brought apon himself.
Amber, can you make a fire that doesn't hurt when it comes in contact with skin? Aqua thought.
Depends, can fish breath air? She thought back.
Just do it, Amber! I hissed through our minds.
Amber began to move her head in a cross stitch pattern, sowing the Subbie back to the tree before the branches could completely wither away. Like a glowing cacoon, the Metal Subbie was encased to the tree in flames.
Can't rust fire now can you? Amber teased the Subbie.
Instead of answering, the Subbie just sat there and kicked her legs and whimpered.
Just them, Amber and Gale's mothers ran up, both scared badly.
Excellent job, ladies, they thought, Stu has ordered all Elementals be home ASAP.
What about her? I asked, thrusting my head towards the Subbie.
We're going to do a full interogation, thought my father, walking up from behind me, Lily, just get home safe. Your friends can stay the night if need be.
We took the oportunity for a sleepover. Amber recaped the story about her fight with the original Subbie we had seen from my window.
"A few minutes after you three left, I heard the other Subbie howl. It frightened me. I don't know why, but I knew that that one Subbie was going to be tuff. Did she say her name?"
"No, and I didn't tell her mine." I said.
"Probably a good idea." Gale said, looking somewhere distant out the window (Yes, Gale was there. In our small Elemental community it was no big deal that Gale was spending the night with three girls).
I saw my father walk past my room with a knife.
"Dad?" I asked.
"Yes?" he said, tucking the knife in his belt.
"What's that for?" I gestured towards the blade.
"Nothing." he said, clearly trying to end the conversation.
"What are you going to do with the Subbie?" I asked, not letting him out that easily.
"We will take care of the Sub-Elemental, Lilian." With that, he walked away. Clearly something was wrong becuase he never called me Lilian like my mother insisted him to.
We looked out of my window to see his silhouette dissapear into the woods.
"Wonder why he's still human. Going into the woods at this time of night is dangerous." Gale said.
Later on that night, we smelt the scent of death and saw smoke rising deep within the woods.
