~*~ Chapter Seventeen ~*~

     ~ Gale's POV ~

"Please, I don't know what you're talking about!" Aqua shrieked once more. Two detectives had taken Aqua and me into a dimmly lit classroom to ask us what we knew about Amber.

"I'm sure as hell you do!" Detective Claus said, banging his fist against the desk.

"Really, what was your name? Wasser? We have eye witness accounts of the four kids in question being together at a number of different events." another detective, Morris I think it was, said.

"Going to and from school, eating lunch together, similiar class schedule, we have it all, kid." Detective Claus said, turning to me.

"What did you do with Cooper?" I asked.

"He'ss being interrogated in the next room." Detective Morris said.

"Listen, we don't know anything." Aqua said.

"Yeah, just let us go." I yelled at them. I was tired of these two. They obviously didn't understand how much stronger I am than them.

"For now, yes, but we'll be back for you." Detective Claus said, opening the door and letting artificial light poor in from the hallway.

Yeah, I'm sure, I thought as I led Aqua out of the room.

     ~ Lily's POV ~

"Gale?" I whispered into the phone, pinned against the wall of the school.

"Yeah, Lil? I'm here," I heard Aqua's voice instead, "Gale was called back to be interrogated with Cooper."

     "Crap." I said.

"They'll be out soon... I hope." Aqua sounded choked up.

"Listen, Aqua, the Subs, Amber and I are outside and are about to break in."

"You can't. There's SWAT team people surrounding the school!" she said.

"We'll handle it, but when you see us you gotta shift."

     "Shift?" she asled, sounding shocked.

"Yeah. I don't care who's around you, just shift and attack if needed, okay?" I asked.

"I'll do it. Lily, this might postpone our revolt." I heard her say.

"That's the least of my concerns right now, Aqua. Right now, I'm looking to get you three out." I said and hung up.

     Let's do this, I said.

We're gonna sack the front entrance first, Aiden thought.

Okay. Guys, don't die, Amber thought.

Thanks, Amber, Luna said as we began moving towards the fourteen or so SWAT team members guarding the front doors.

Aiden had already pounced before any of the men saw him.

"Clide!" one of them yelled, pointing at Aiden's electrically charged body. It was too late. Aiden's enormous mouth clamped on Clide's sholder and I heard the cling of bone meeting bone. Amber ran headon for the man that had yelled and grabbed his leg. He screamed and fell silent as Crystal joined in.

Two down, about ten to go, Amber thought.

I joined in by grabbing one of the SWAT team members' hand, throwing his gun against the pavement. Bullets fired, and the ground shook as a wolf crumbled.

     Luna! Crystal and I cried.

I'm fine. He grazed my leg, Luna thought.

By the time the guards were either wounded or dead (Elementals didn't usually kill humans, but when we feel threatened instinct kicks in), we moved in towards the school.

Dirt! I heard Gale yell through my thoughts.

Guys, go help Gale, I told Amber and Aiden.

Lily, someone shot Gale in his wing and he can't fly, Aqua said, running up beside me.

Yeah, and I locked two detectives in a closet, Cooper sounded pleased with himself.

     How? I asked.

By bending the doornob, Cooper said.

Lil! I'm fine, Gale said, trotting over to us, licking our noses.

I'd hate to break up the family reunion, but things are getting crazy, Aiden said.

I looked around to see Crystal being pinned to a wall my at least twelve men, Amber holding down a man while Aqua bit him, and I could bareilly hear my friends' thoughts over the roar of gunfire.

Where do we go? Cooper asked.

     To the Compound, I said.

     But the Elementals-, Crystal thought.

I don't care anymore! It's either we keep hiding or we let them know, I said.

Then to the Compound it is, I heard Aiden say.

     To the Compound, I repeated.
