"Well, let me be the first to say that I care about you too Peter."

Madeline sits on a white couch with her body facing her window. One that overlooks the beautiful dark city lights. Surrounding her, are her notebooks and a computer. She was in the middle of finishing a book report for English when Peter called her up wanting to talk. Maybe even just to listen to her voice. No matter what, she was happy to hear from him.

She opens her mouth to say something but someone opens the door to her room, a big modern styled bedroom with sheer curtains and a fancy mirror hanging above her queen sized bed. A tall, skinny man with clear glasses comes into the room.
"Miss Osborn? You father would like you to come to the conference room for a talk with one of his business partners."

She covers her phone, "Okay, thank you Oliver." She whispers over to him, trying not to disrupt the conversation that she and Peter are having. Oliver nods his head and smiles quickly before closing the door.
"Hey, my Dad's calling for me about a meeting or something. I'll try to talk to you later?"
"Yeah—yeah. That fine."
Madeline sighs and stretches her tired legs.
"Okay...bye Pete." She sings in the phone.
"...Bye Maddie."

She hangs up and bites a small part of her bottom lip before standing up and smoothing out her jeans.

When she walks out of her room, Oliver stands outside with both arms behind his back.

"Who's Peter? Is he a...partner for a project?" He says with a confused expression on his face.
He then goes to close the door behind her.

"He's a friend, that's all you need to know." She tells him and waits for him to finish closing the door.

They walk down the hallway. Where the walls are painted a crisp grey color and the floors are made of new-installed marble. Black and white abstract paintings hang on the walls.

"He seems more of a—"
"—Oli, Peter Parker is just a friend. Please don't speak to my Dad about this." He catches up to her speed so they're walking side by side.
"Why wouldn't I need to tell your father if he's 'only a friend'?"

Madeline stops in her tracks and squints her eyes at the man.
"You and I both know he doesn't like me hanging out with other people," she keeps walking, this time at a faster pace than usual, "Especially guys. He gets overprotective sometimes and I'm tired of it."

"Miss Madeline, Norman Osborn is your father. Of course he's overprotective when it comes to friends, your his daughter."

She ignores him and makes a left turn, walking down a flight of white narrow stairs.
