Lola's outfit

"You ready Lo?" Josh called as I hastily shoved a shoe on my foot, making sure to pack the other one in my bag for later. For the final time I arranged my crutches under my arms, adjusting my grip around the handle before hopping down the corridor, "I'm not going to miss these" I chuckled to Josh, balancing on one foot and flapping the crutches around in the air as he stood laughing. "How excited are you to get that cast off?" He asked once we had climbed into the car, an excited expression washing over my face, "I haven't seen my foot in six weeks fam, what if it's not even there anymore?" I over-dramatically cried, patting the hard cast where my foot was in a sarcastically panicked tone. "You're the worst" He groaned, nudging me lightly as we began the short journey to the hospital where I would finally be freed from hopping around like an idiot every day.

"Make sure you take it easy for the first few weeks, if it begins so badly hurt again please visit your local GP for a compulsory check up" The doctor instructed, ushering us out of the small room. "Thank you!" Josh and I said in unison as we made our way out of the hospital, "how does not being disabled feel?" Josh jokingly asked watching me carefully as I took my first walk without crutches for over a month, most likely making me look like bambi trying to take it's first steps. "Weird but amazing." I simply replied, the sensation of pressure when my left foot made contact with the hard concrete feeling almost unnatural.

"Yay you're back!" Simon cheered as we walked into the house, quickly engulfing me into a tight hug. "Look Si I'm not crippled anymore!" I said enthusiastically, wiggling my foot around proudly, "I suggest we celebrate with a Nando's?" He ginned, slipping his shoes on without hesitation and dragging me back out the door. "You coming Josh? Apparently we must go to Nando's this second or Simon is gonna die" I asked, rolling my eyes at the boy who was now sitting impatiently in his car, revving the engine loudly. "I have to film. But when you get back I'll invite the rest of the guys over so we can have a party" he replied, waving goodbye before shutting the door behind him. "Just us then?" I explained, climbing into the passenger seat, "Good because that means I can do this" he whispered, gently cupping my face in his warm hands and pulling me towards his puckered lips, lightly pressing them onto my own. What the past month has taught me is to open my heart; to my friends, my family and even Simon. Although it seemed nearly impossible at first, he taught me how to let go and love- something I never thought would happen. We weren't dating, nor were we friends with benefits; we were an unexplainable mixture of the two, but that's how we wanted it. Nothing serious but nevertheless nothing meaningless, we were simply Simon and Lola. "Imagine if anyone found out" I giggled as we pulled away breathlessly, "we'd be dead that's for sure" he replied, taking a strand of hair and tucking it gently behind my ear to reveal my bare cheek which he lovingly pecked, sending shivers down my spine. "I want to stay in this moment forever" I sighed, resting my forehead on his, feeling the warmth of his breath tickle my face. "But what about Nando's" he joked, making me flick his forehead childishly, "you're a cuck boy" I groaned, dramatically turning to face the window in a fake strop. "You love me really" He whispered in my ear before finally driving off, "In your dreams Minter" I chuckled.
