It had been almost two weeks since Andy reappeared into my life, having extended his stay in Trost and everything was a mess. Levi would barely look at me and when he did, I saw nothing but cold and distant eyes glaring at me, shattering my heart. We were no longer on friendly terms as we had been. In fact, we were back to the former student-and-professor relationship we started with. He even marked points off on the majority of my assignments, even if there was the smallest of errors when he had been lenient before. That didn't upset me though. No, what upset me was when I was walking from my math class to the SU building and I saw him walking with a woman with deep blonde hair and big brown eyes. She had her arms wrapped around one of his and was smiling happily as she chattered away to him. He, of course, still had that stoic expression, only ever muttering a word or two to her. That was what hurt like hell. That was what caused my chest to ache.
But, on top of that, things weren't going so smoothly in my friends' circle either. I mean, things were still relatively normal and unchanged with Jean and Connie, but Marco was definitely not himself. Yes, he conversed with me whenever Connie or Jean was near, but he'd either ignore me or completely ditch me altogether whenever they were gone. He had been acting weird since before things between Levi and I became rocky, but I couldn't get him alone long enough to discuss whatever it was bothering him and he never replied to my text messages. It was all so depressing beyond words, but my bad luck didn't stop there.
Oh no. Andy had found out where MRU was and would meet me daily after my classes. The first week I had avoided going anywhere private with him, such as my apartment or his hotel room. So, we often ended up in the Armored Café or at the Rogue Diner, but eventually, Andy wouldn't have it. We began to go to parks as a means to freshen up the scenery, though I still never felt safe. There was always a dark aura looming around Andy, which was terrifying to me. He didn't project it out into the world, but I saw beneath those dark eyes and phony smile. I saw it all.
However, I was nowhere near anyone at the moment. I had found a temporary hiding place in the SU building to get away from my small circle of friends and the buzzing of other students in order to think. I was beyond stressed and utterly depressed. My heart was breaking from all that was going on around me and there wasn't a damn thing I could do to stop it. Everything hurt -my heart, my soul, my body, my dignity. All of it was crumbling right before me.
"Ugh. Why me?" I moaned as I dropped my head into my hands. "Fuck my life."
"Ya know, it's a little weird when people talk to themselves," a feminine tone snickered.
I glanced up to see two girls in front of me. One was tall and slender with short black hair pulled back into a ponytail and piercing gray eyes that intimidated me the moment I saw them. She had her arms crossed against her chest and was smirking at me devilishly. The other girl, however, was much shorter in comparison with longer honey blonde hair that fell to her back and big blue eyes that were bright and inviting. She smiled sweetly at me before gazing up at her friend.
"Ymir, be nice. You don't know anything about her. She's obviously having a bad day," the blonde snapped.
"Ya think?" the girl named Ymir cackled. "You heard it yourself! Poor thing just said to fuck her own life."
The blonde rolled her eyes and turned to me, smiling, "I'm sorry about her. She gets a little high strong around new people." She extended her hand out to me. "I'm Historia Reiss and this here is -"
"I'm her girlfriend, Ymir Fritz," Ymir interrupted, causing Historia to roll her eyes again.
I took each of their hands and gave them firm shakes, trying to smile, "I'm Y/N L/N." I dropped my hands to my lap and mumbled, "Sorry if I was weird right then."
I could feel their gazes on me as they stood there. To be honest, it was nice to be meeting new people of the same sex as me. In fact, it was refreshing. Being surrounded by guys every day was growing a little stale, so their company was much appreciated.
"You're fine," Historia smiled. "We just saw you sitting alone and thought we'd see if you were okay. You looked very stressed."
"You have no idea," I laughed halfheartedly. "It's been...very stressful."
"I got somethin' that might help," Ymir smirked, digging into her bag.
I watched as she shuffled through her books before fishing out a small bottle of what appeared to be pills. The content in the tiny plastic container clinked and clanked softly as she set in on the table in front of me. I read the small label. Xanax was what it said. I glanced up at Ymir still smiling away and Historia wide-eyed.
"Ymir, no," Historia nearly demanded. "You promised you wouldn't do this at school. And also, don't do this to her! Don't make her into a junky."
"Hey, I'm just offering it," Ymir shrugged. "She can refuse if she wants. No ones holdin' a gun to her head and telling her to take 'em."
I picked up the bottle. The plastic was smooth against my fingertips and warm from being in Ymir's bag. I had never before considered anything this outrageous, but as I sat there contemplating it all, I figured, why not? My life was already turning back into the hell it had been before. So what if I took a few pills to help calm me when I was upset? People did it all the time. If it helped then it helped, right?
"How much?" I swallowed, meeting Ymir's gape.
Historia's mouth fell open. "No, Y/N! You don't have to do this."
"How much?" I repeated, ignoring Historia's pleads.
Ymir's grin grew as she replied smoothly, "Since you're a first timer and so damn cute, I'll give you them for free. Just don't broadcast to the world you have 'em." She narrowed her eyes, adding, "And if anyone finds you with 'em, ya didn't get 'em from me. Got it?"
I nodded nervously, "Got it. T-thank you."
Ymir waved her hands dismissively and laced her fingers with Historia's, "No problem. If ya need more, just let me know." She tugged at her girlfriend's arm and smiled, "Come on, we'll be late for class."
They began to make their leave, their backs to me. I watched as Ymir remained so calm and cool, but was surprised when Historia glanced back at me. Her expression was worried and...sad.
**Hello lovelies! First thing's first, I do NOT condone the use of drugs for anything not medically recognized and properly diagnosed. I also do not condone illegally selling/distributing/purchasing of drugs either. This is a real-world problem, but I did include it in the story. As the chapters progress, you'll see how deep this is all gonna get. Remember, not for the faint of heart, so please read with caution. I'll try to give a heads up at the start of any touchy chapters from here on out, kay? Anyway, thank you so much for reading! Means the world to me! Feel free to drop a comment/vote/follow me! I promise to always follow back! Wuv yous <3**
