Tension

Deathbringer paced outside the meeting hall, his nerves growing by the second. The other guards fro the other kingdoms looked anxious, as if they didn't trust the other queens not to harm their own. It was a perfectly reasonable worry. In the locked room before them were the six most powerful dragons in all of Pyrrhia. Together they had fire, frostbreath, and two kinds of venom. If they turned on each other, it would be chaos that no one could help. Everyone was tense, sitting and standing around expectantly, as if the fate of the world was being decided right before them. And they weren't wrong. Snowfall's declaration had shocked everyone and a Queen's meeting had been called immediately. If it weren't for the soundproof walls, the things the guards would've heard would've made them even more nervous.

Tension had skyrocketed in the room, and they were on the verge of snapping. Glory had looked more like a Skywing Queen than a Rainwing one since the moment she'd entered the room, and her scales had only been streaked with black rage. Ruby and Moorhen stared at the ongoing fight, unwilling to take sides that had already been chosen. Thorn's fist slammed on the table.

"It's completely barbaric!" she yelled.

"It is NOT! It is about time we rid the land of those taints to our society!" Snowfall countered. Glory seethed.

"Well whether you like it or not, two of those taints are going to be ruling at some point in their lives!"

"THAT'S EXACTLY THE PROBLEM!"

"No, YOU'RE THE PROBLEM!"

"I AM DOING WHAT IS BEST FOR PYRRHIA!"

"SO THE MURDER OF HUNDREDS OF INNOCENTS, INCLUDING DRAGONETS, IS WHAT'S BEST FOR PYRRHIA?"

"They are not all innocent."

"I REFUSE TO LET YOU PUT A PRICE ON MY DAUGHTER'S HEAD FOR A DECISION I MADE!"

"I REFUSE TO LET A DRAGON THAT DOESN'T BOW TO A QUEEN LIVE!"

"ENOUGH!!!!!!" Moorhen declared, silencing them. "Quit shouting. Let's just settle down and discuss this like the respectable dragons were are."

"Discussion was thrown out the window a while ago, Moorhen." Thorn growled.

"Snowfall is right. We can't keep hybrids alive. They're a danger to us all." Coral agreed.

"Do you really believe that, or are you just agreeing because you know you can kill your grandson and his children this way?" Glory demanded. Coral glared at her.

"He has nothing to do with this."

"Really? Cause it bloody well looks like it."

"You are such a insufferable little-" The yelling resumed. Ruby buried her face in her talons.

"What are we going to do?"

"I haven't the slightest idea." Moorhen admitted. "But I doubt it'll be anything good at this point."

"HYBRIDS HAVE DONE NOTHING WRONG!"

"THEY ARE CREATING ANARCHY RIGHT IN FRONT OF US, AND YOU ARE JUST TOO BLINDED TO SEE IT!"

"I AM NOT BLINDED BY ANYTHING!"

"Really?" Snowfall questioned. "Cause it looks to me that at LEAST two dragons in this room have been blinded by some charming Nightwing before."

If looks could kill, Snowfall would've spontaneously combusted with half the glare Glory alone was giving her. Putting the two of their glares together was enough to power a hydrogen bomb.

"I am not letting you harm my dragonets or anyone in their families." Glory snarled.

"Well, too bad. You should've thought of that before you let some failed assassin knock you up." Snowfall shot back.

Ruby, Thorn, Moorhen, and even Coral backed up into the back wall of the room, as far away from Glory and Snowfall as they could get. Looks of pure terror were written on all of their faces. You did not say that to the Rainwing Queen. Ever.

Outside the room, Deathbringer stopped pacing and frowned with confusion. For some strange reason, he felt very deeply offended, as if he had just been severely insulted. Weird. He'd have to ask Glory about it later.

"What did you say to me?" Glory demanded, calm enough to make Ruby want to whimper in fear. Snowfall smirked at her. But the look was short-lived, for at that moment, the tension in the room snapped, and Glory lunged at the Icewing Queen.
