- Two Days After The Events Of Chapter Ten -

"Fuck!" A loud cry echoed out among the traffic.

The exclamation seemed to have come from a blue and brown haired young man, who had just spilled coffee on his arm.

Ethan hissed, shaking and mopping up his burning arm. God, hopefully it would stop hurting when he got to work.

And so, he trudged off to work, mumbling profanities under his breath.

Profane rambling long lost, he pushed open the door to the shop, relishing the following chime! that signaled his entrance.

Two heads swivelled around to face him, one was the tan, black topped face of Mark, the other.....

Wait wait wait wait wait, he was coming today? Ethan mentally screamed, staring at Tyler's cheery features.

Mark gave him a knowing, yet very devious grin, motioning towards the man in front of him and mouthing 'it's your boyfriend'

The blue boy flushed a startling crimson, hate glittering in his blue eyes.  "Oh my GOD Mark I'm going to strangle you!"  He proclaimed, leaping towards the Korean.

Mark yelped, trying to move out of the way, but his attacker got hold of his leg and held on.  Now.... it just kinda looked like Ethan was a child holding onto his father's leg.

Yikes.

Ethan let go, standing next to Tyler with an infuriated glare settled upon his face.

"So, now that you've calmed down from your temper tantrum, I can finally tell you that Tyler is here today to pick up his flowers.  You probably thought it was tomorrow,' Mark added upon seeing the blue boys confused expression, 'but he decided to surprise us and come today."

Tyler nodded to confirm the statement, his arms draped on the countertop.

Isn't it always just great when you have to work or go to school with your crush? Yeah.... just great.

So, Ethan slid behind the counter, a fake smile on his face.  "Alrighty then.  You want us to go grab em?"

The tall boy nodded, and the blue boy and Mark trotted into the store room.

Yikes.  The store room was this big ol place for storing supplies and flowers, and goddamn was it dusty.

And, there they were.  They were the only white flowers that they had in stock, and the sheer mass of the flowers made them easy to locate.

Mr. Stronk Boi Ethan picked up as many containers as he could, tottering out into the shop and trooping back for more.

Tyler looked very impressed when he saw the blue boy carrying so much at once, ah, proud dad friend.

In no time at all, everything had not only been brought into the shop, but also had been loaded into the tall boys car.

Wait, did I say no time at all, haha, I meant it took until lunch break to do so.

Whoops, my bad.

Anywho, let's check in with Ethan shall we?

Oh, bad timing I guess.  He was currently curled up in the bathroom, having a small panic attack.

Why you ask? Well, his anxiety was going crazy over supposedly small things like oh god why didn't I say anything to Tyler? and God, he must think I'm some workaholic who doesn't even care for him.  Am.... Am I really like that?

So, he was pressed up against the wall next to the door, hugging his legs and breathing heavily as tears stung the corners of his eyes.

He didn't expect anyone to care, he didn't expect anyone to notice he wasn't at lunch with everyone else.

Hell, he didn't even think that if someone found him crying that they would do anything but bat an eye at him.

But.. that all changed when he heard a small thump from the other side of the door

"Young man." A soft singing voice reached his ears, and his eyes widened as he recognized it as Tyler's.

"There's no need to feel down."  It was a slow, meaningful version of the original song and.... it actually was kinda helping him calm down.

"I said young man, pick yourself off the ground." Shuffling could be heard from the other side of the door, presumably his friend standing up.  And... He followed suit, standing as well.

"I said young man, 'cause you're in a new town." The singing got a little louder as Ethan pressed himself against the door, one hand on the handle, the other by his head.

"There's no need to be unhappy." And with that verse, he unlocked the door, opening it slowly.

When Tyler saw his puffy, red eyes and the tear tracks shimmering on his cheeks, his expression softened.

The tall boy ran his thumb along the blue boys cheeks, wiping everything away in one tender movement.

"I know, there's a place I can go." Ethan suddenly picked up the song from where Tyler had dropped it, shocking the other.

"Oh yeah, I know, when I'm short on the dough." In one swift movement, Tyler pulled him against his chest and wrapped his arms around the shorter, hugging him tightly.

"I can stay here, where I'm sure I will find." Ethan was burying himself into the tallers chest, relishing the warmth that made all his cares go away.

"Many ways to have a good time." There, right there, in that seemingly unimportant and small line, two soft voices came together to sing in perfect harmony.  A higher, squeakier melody melting into a stronger, deeper one.

They stood there, embracing each other in silence.  They didn't care if the others saw them, god, all Ethan wanted at the moment was to be held and told that everything would be alright.

"are you okay now?" Tyler murmured in his ear, sending a small chill through the blue boys spine.

"Not at all... but feeling a lot better." Ethan admitted, looking down at his feet.  The tall boy noticed this, and lightly grabbed the others chin, forcing those pretty blue orbs to stare up to his own grayish-brown.

"You know, I have an idea of something that could make you a little happier." Tyler tilted his head to the side, a soft fondness that Ethan had never seen before in his eyes.

The blue boys brain went to work, gosh, what did he mean? A few possibilities came to mind, but he held onto his most favourite.

"And what would that be, Mr. Tall Pale and Handsome?" Ethan asked innocently, pressing his eyebrows together to feign innocence.

And, turns out his favourite thought came true.

What was it, you ask?

Well, it was feeling Tyler's rough, warm lips pressed against his own.

Oops don't kill me for putting YMCA lyrics, it's just whenever I need to calm down I always listen to slowed down versions of it.
