- One Week After The Events Of Chapter Eighteen -

After another hectic day of work, Ethan was ready to go home and sleep.

What exactly made his day so terrible?  So, so many things.

First of all, a lady brought her dog into the shop, and the dog had knocked over three pots.  Guess who's job it was to rein in the dog and clean up the mess?  You guessed it, Ethans.

Secondly, there were way more customers than usual, meaning more messes, frustrations, and finding things in the storage room.  He hated going into that storage room, it was so musty and gross.

Thirdly, some guy was eating a peanut butter granola bar, which meant that Jack had to step in.  Ethan couldn't risk having an allergic reaction by being around that guy.

Fourth, and final mess of the day, was when Mr. Felix Kjellberg came over to get some more curcumas for his cafe, and in the process knocked over three bags of fertilizer.  Mark and him had to clean up that mess for about an hour.

Fuck Felix.

When the clock struck 4 o clock, Ethan cleaned up, put away his apron and was out of the door in record time.

He started speed-walking home, which wasn't a good idea, as he was just pushing his already tired legs to do even more work.  Somehow he actually got through his door, into his room, and onto his bed before he collapsed.

Ethan didn't have any plans for the rest of the day, his only 'plans' were to stay in bed, eat food and watch something.  Working out?  Psh, that was for days when he wasn't dead on his feet.

Fate seemed to be working in his favor for quite a while, as he got through an episode and a half of Mr. Robot and had eaten a sandwich before his phone went off.

T- Hey.......

E- Hey?  What's with all the ellipses?

T- wndsndkdijdisen the what?

E- the periods.  What's with all the periods.

T- ah yes
T- so uh, apparently there's gonna be a sick meteor shower tonight
T- and I know this really great spot (my roof) that we can watch it

E-  yes.  I would love to watch it with you

T- oh thank gOD I was so nervous
T- hhh okay you can come over at like 8:30 or 9 or something or whenever you want

E- I'll be over at nine man
E- see you then I guess

T- see you corazón

Ethan touched his cheeks gingerly, as if trying to wave away the heat that lingered there.

Three hours, and one cold shower later, he was ready to go over.

Since they were going to be watching from Tyler's roof, and he was guessing it was going to be cold, he slipped on a mint sweater and some dark jeans, as well as some maroon sneakers.  He did a quick flourish in the mirror, and he was ready to go!

Here came the predicament;  should he ask someone to drive him, or should he walk over to Tyler's house?

The pros of getting someone to drive him included safety, warmth, and not having to walk.  The cons are he's way to much of an awkward child to actually ask anyone.

The pros of walking include not having to talk to someone, and getting some exercise for once.  Cons include the coldness, and also it's kinda dangerous.

But did he care if someone stabbed him in an alleyway?  Apparently not, because he grabbed his keys, locked up, and started walking over.

Halfway through his walk he realized, ah crap, this is a bad idea, it's really cold out.  He couldn't go back now, and he hadn't worked up the nerve to call someone.

So, he kept going on, kept walking and walking until Tyler's house showed like a beacon of hope on the horizon.

He picked up his pace, and before he could comprehend his actions, he was strolling in without even knocking.

"Heyo, Ethan!"  Tyler called out, poking his head out of his bedroom, "Make yourself at home- I'll be right with you."

Ethan flopped down on his couch, his mind already trying to shut down.  He willed it to continue working for at least another hour, and it seemed to oblige, as he got a surge of new energy.

"Alright.  Wanna head up to the roof now?"  Tyler asked as he walked into the living room.  In his hands was a bowl with a bag of chips in it, and multiple blankets and pillows.

"You need some help with that?"  He mused, stepping forwards to take a blanket and all the pillows out of his lovers arms.

They walked outside, where he was pleasantly surprised to find that Tyler had a ladder set up, and clambered up it.  It was a little hard, considering he had things in his arms, but he made it eventually.

The sight was quite nice on the roof.  There was a little breeze going by, sure, it was chilly, but it fluffed his hair around, and he liked that.  He could just barely see some dark clouds going by, and the moon shone like a spotlight through the night.

He set out his pillows and blanket just as Tyler heaved himself up the ladder.  The tall male added his stuff to the collection, and soon they had a nice little cuddle pile all set up.

Ethan settled himself down in the middle of the pile, effectively taking up most of the space.  Tyler made a face, then gave a shrug.  "Okay, it's your funeral."

He only had a few seconds to realize what was happening before he felt the taller of the two flop down on him, ultimately squishing the air out of him.

"Ty....ler..... get the fuck off of me you hoe."  The blue boy wheezed, beating his hands against the others side in vain.

Tyler gave a laugh, and nestled next to Ethan on the pile.  The two settled in to watch the meteor shower, which just so happened to be starting right at that moment.

The blue boy gave a little exhale of surprise, his eyes trained on the shooting lights darting across the sky.  It was so mystical, so strange, yet so amazing all at once.  He moved a little closer to Tyler, who ran his fingers through Ethans hair.

They stayed like that, cuddling and watching the shower until both males drifted off into a restful sleep.
