It's something that happens all at once
Not piece by piece
It's the thing that makes you write cliche poems
You know those poems.
Poems where you are overly specific and use pointless metaphors.
It's overly detailed and lacks that "you" quality
Where you use big words like to replace how you actually feel
Where you hide away
How you wish you could tell her those almond shaped brown eyes are something you can get lost in
And her pink lips are all you want to kiss, but your way too scared so you just settle for nothing
And you wanted to hold her hand that day in the hallway but you were having an internal battle in your mind so you just settled for awkwardly grabbing her wrist
The kind of poetry where I say that super, sappy, shit instead of putting it out there point blank period
How her voice basically sings to souls like an angels. You know shit like that.
And your incredibly adorable and I want to tell you everyday but you know...your surrounded by seniors and I'm scared of rejection.
It's weird and my friends tell me I'm acting how I used to.
By they don't know that when you walk into a room my eyes follow you because you captivate me
You walk like you don't have a care in the world.
I may or may not be checking you out in the process.
They don't know that when you talk to me my palms get sweaty and my voice gets caught in my throat and my heart literally starts to pound in my chest
Which is why I am so glad you can't hear the way it whispers your name.
Doesn't help that everybody finds you attractive and you could easily move on to better because Let's face It...there are people better than me
So yea,I'm writing that poetry.
The poetry that you write so you can pour out your feelings.
The poetry you hopes get you that 15 second hug because she's happy you did it for her.
The poetry thats saying "hey you make me blubber like an idiot but i can listen to you talk all day" kind of poetry
The "please let me hold your hand down the hallway so I can show everybody your not available so I can stop hearing the whispers of How much they want you" poetry
But you know your not an object or a prize to be won.
The "I want to see you reach new heights, I want to make you see the stars" kind of poetry
The poetry where it talks about me giving you marks of passion so you'll never forget why you just randomly rub at your skin throughout the day and smile kind of poetry
The ones where I say that in all honesty the feelings I've had before actually talking to you seem like little baby moths in comparison to the elephant sized butterflies you make me feel.
The poems where I moan and groan about school but in reality I like going because I get to see you. Even though I'm literally the definition of nerves.
So hey I'll do things that make you smile if I get to see it.
I'll paint the Mona Lisa and write Shakespearean plays if you want me to.
I'll write the sappy spoken words...that you'll never read.
