My mind is like a cave
A black pool of nothing
Carved into the earth
With a gaping hole as an entrance
It hides everything that is me
Everything that is my ownThis cave of mine,
It hides wondersBecause it's so dark
I hide the truth from others
Keeping my thoughts to myselfOh those thoughts
Like bats screeching In my ears
Bouncing off the walls of the cave
Making my head hurtIt makes me want to escape
But this cave is an endless maze
With twists and turns
That lead me right back to where I startedThe only thing that reminds me I'm awake
As I sit in darkness
The cool rock of my cave on my back
Is a streamThis stream of consciousness
Trickles in through a little hole in the wall
Letting in a glimpse of light
Its cool water gliding over me
Keeping me alive.
