"Hush little human, don't you cry. A fallen angel will lie with you tonight. Rest your weary head and say goodnight, a fallen angel will protect you tonight." Abaddon sung in a very angelic voice to Nigel.
Nigel was home in his nursery; a small room with one window, blue and green striped painted walls, a beige colored carpet, toys and of course other newborn necessaries. Abaddon has been here for an hour now, watching Nigel squirm in his crib while his parents were getting some sleep. He was about to start crying hysterically, before Abaddon began to sing and put him to sleep. Nigel was so fragile, handsome, and sweet. But Abaddon didn't know how to feel about having a soulmate that was a human, perhaps it's not so bad because Lucifer was handling it but he had to remind himself that Lucifer and the angels are playing tug-a-war with Estrella. Speaking of the two, he told himself that he had to get back to the Underworld to see if Lucifer had returned. Abaddon leant down, planting a kiss on Nigel's soft forehead, before turning away to the wall.
"Aizved mani mājās." Abaddon commanded in a soft tone so Nigel's slumber wouldn't be disturbed. What he said meant "take me home", and the wall did just that.
Abaddon arrived in his messy bedroom, surrounded by the familiar four walls and scent of death. Heaven, Earth and the Underworld were three utter different places. All three messed with your head, even Abaddon's, because they all had their own identity. The corridor was hectic with demons of both genders, walking up and down the marble corridor with sadistic grins and insane facial expressions. Abaddon was one of the disliked because he was Lucifer's right hand man and basically had almost as much control as Lucifer did, of course Lucifer had other brothers here as well but they prepared to stay outside the Kingdom in the deepest parts of the Underworld controlling the worst demons possible. Lilith was ahead of Abaddon, strutting her way towards him in a very slutty outfit. Lilith always believed that he despised her because she wouldn't jump in bed with him, but that was simply untrue, Abaddon despised her because she was a power-hungry bitch.
"Hello, Abaddon.
"Hello, whore." He spat, walking past her with a disgusted look.
"You should know that Lucifer is destroying your playroom," Lilith shouted at him and Abaddon kept walking. "you probably did something to piss him off!"
Lilith was a major liar, he questioned everything that escaped her vile mouth. But what she meant by his playroom was Abaddon's favorite room that was given to him by Lucifer decades ago, it was one of the places he loved to disappear to. It was a small room, but big enough for a desk and a few chairs and even bookshelves filled with ancient books. He would spend hours in there reading books, even ones he has read, just to learn what information they had. Some were fascinating, others were pointless. But just in case, by some miracle, that Lilith was telling the truth he decided to check. His footsteps echoed through the silent hallway, bouncing off the walls and surrounding him like spirits as he neared the room he liked to call his library. He paused when a noise echoed louder over his footsteps, realizing that they were coming from his library. Abaddon broke into a sprint, opening the black door immediately to see Lucifer inside frantically looking through books. Most of them laid on the floor, some closed and others opened, but Lucifer continued to search as if his life depended on it. Abaddon was speechless, standing in the doorway with wide black eyes and an open mouth. Lucifer hardly, if ever, came to the library. It was always Abaddon's responsibility to find what he needed then give him the information, but now that he was here searching---destroying the library Abaddon felt the atmosphere change drastically.
"No!" Lucifer roared, throwing a book at the wall then grabbing another one to fleetingly flip through the pages. Abaddon found his voice immediately.
"What are you doing, brother?!"
He shut the door behind him before getting down on his knees to start cleaning up Lucifer's mess, he was stacking the books in a nice pile but Lucifer kept searching.
"What does it look like I'm doing?" he snapped. "I'm looking for something!"
"I can see that but what are you looking for? Throwing the books isn't going to give you your answer sooner and you're not even reading the pages, you probably skipped over it!" Abaddon exclaimed, putting the pile of books on the desk.
Lucifer stopped, rubbing his face in absolute frustration and clenching his teeth. The library was consumed in an unsettling silence, leaving Abaddon ready to defend himself if Lucifer lost his temper. Suddenly, Lucifer began to chuckle darkly. His laughter bounced around the room, giving Abaddon the chills.
"Do you know why I despise Earth and humans, Abaddon?"
Abaddon swallowed hard, clearing his throat before answering the question.
"I know why you do, brother."
Lucifer's back and shoulders tensed, he stepped away from the bookshelf and slowly twirled around to face Abaddon. Lucifer's facial expression was hard as stone, but his black eyes gave off the wrath.
"Tell me then."
"Because Father chose them over us, all of us."
Lucifer nodded his head, wandering over to the chair behind the desk. He gripped the chair tightly, pulling it outwards so he could sit down.
"And he does this, even after casting me out of my home over those flawed mistakes!" Lucifer spat but Abaddon didn't quite understand what he meant. The silence and confusion on his face convinced Lucifer to talk in further detail. "he makes a human my soulmate. A damn human! I know he could have changed it, if he desired to, but apparently he didn't or I wouldn't be so damn desperate to be near Estrella! I can't stand it, the thought of loving a human. I don't want to love her, she's just as bad as the other humans there except she was born with half of my soul." he snarled, crossing his arms.
Abaddon stared at him, even though he understood what Lucifer meant he was still confused. Not that long ago, Lucifer was telling him that humans will change him. Now, Lucifer suddenly despises humans again, especially Estrella? He turned towards the books again, starting another pile before daring to ask.
"Did something happen when you went to check on her?"
Lucifer bit his bottom lip, feeling the heat rising off his body. If anger were flames, this library would be engulfed in them. Lucifer hesitated to tell Abaddon, he wasn't sure if he wanted anyone to know about this misconception.
"Estrella is pregnant," he spat through his teeth. "and claims I am the father."
Abaddon turned around to face Lucifer to check if he was kidding, but the hard, cold expression on his face made Abaddon's heart drop to the depths of his stomach.
"That's impossible."
"I know it is," Lucifer snarled then pushed himself out of the chair. Abaddon watched him walk around the room, clearly aggravated. "but she's very persistent to make me believe I am the father. Even bringing up the argument that I would know if she was with another human, but humor me, brother. How is it possible?!"
"I have no explanation, Lucifer. I did not think that angels could reproduce, it was never brought to my attention that it was possible. I've read all of these books and even the ones in my room, there's nothing that could explain this," Abaddon paused for a moment while Lucifer leaned his tailbone against the desk. "are you sure she's impregnated and not lying?"
Lucifer nodded his head, folding his arms across his chest.
"I heard the heartbeat. I felt her stomach. I saw the tests she took. She's carrying a girl, a girl that she claims is my daughter and I don't believe her."
"You have every right not to believe her, brother." Abaddon told him.
Lucifer looked at him, his eyes scaring Abaddon.
"When I find out for sure she has lied to me and is carrying another bastard's child, I will kill her and this time I won't hesitate. I want you to find an explanation behind this, I don't care how you find it, but do it!" Lucifer spat. He unfolded his arms and marched towards the door, jerking it open and slamming it shut behind him.
Abaddon flinched, exhaling heavily. He knew that Estrella's life was now in his hands, if he could not give Lucifer an explanation behind this then Estrella's blood was on his hands.
