Estrella stepped out of the shower one early morning, thankful that the steam from the hot shower made the bathroom warm because it was another cold morning. Christmas was in a week now, she was counting down the days even though it was nothing special. The white towel was wrapped around her figure and she used her palm to clear the mirror just to look at herself while she brushed her teeth. She was exhausted since she spent two hours last night throwing up after eating some spaghetti and meatballs, it definitely wasn't pleasant. She thought pregnant women only got sick in the mornings, hence the word morning sickness but she guessed it was anytime during the day. She hasn't seen Lucifer in five days, she wasn't sure what he was up to but that night she did request him to leave and give her time to think. She thought about a lot of things, not only what he had told her, and even though she was still uncertain about this baby she made a doctor's appointment and had one today before ten thirty. It was seven o'clock. She was awake before six thirty just so she could eat breakfast and have some coffee, even though she wasn't really hungry. It was strange, Estrella expected to be hungrier but it was as if her appetite no longer existed. Estrella finished brushing her teeth and ran the brush through her wet locks multiple times before deciding to go get dressed. Since it was so cold, she chose to wear warm clothes and even set aside a; coat, gloves, scarf and winter hat. Now it was time to do her hair and makeup, just to look like she put some effort into looking good. But she had to pee first, which was another sign of pregnancy because she has been going to the bathroom a lot more frequently. She has been searching some pregnancy symptoms, not because she didn't believe the four positive tests, but because she wanted to be sure it was normal pregnancy symptoms and so far they seemed to be. Estrella was apprehensive for this appointment, she felt nauseous already. She hoped everything was fine, but in the back of her mind her subconscious told her it wasn't. She finished getting ready before nine thirty and was in a Taxi at exactly nine thirty nine, which made her feel relieved that she wouldn't be late. She glared out the window, watching cars pass and she wondered how their days were going. Did some of them have Archangels as soulmates and pregnant or was she the only one? The Taxi driver was silent, maybe antisocial, but she kept the radio on even though the volume was a little low. Estrella could make out the voice of Taylor Swift. She arrived at the clinic at ten twenty-two, thanked the driver, paid for the affair then jumped out and rushed inside to feel the warmth. The waiting room wasn't so hectic, but there were some women and children. Estrella chose a seat with two empty ones beside it and tried to get comfortable while waiting for the doctor to call her back. Her palms were beginning to sweat, even though she had gloves on.
"Are you expecting?" asked a young woman with a big belly covered by a navy blue shirt. She had a heart shape face, green eyes and curly long blonde hair.
Estrella nodded her head, smiling apprehensively.
"Yeah I am," she asked. "how far along are you?"
"Thirty weeks," the woman rubbed her belly proudly. "my husband and I decided to stay unaware of the gender so we don't know what we're having. But I kind of regret making that decision because I really want to know."
Estrella laughed softly.
"You're more patient than I am."
"How far along are you?"
"Um, I'm not sure. I'm hoping to find out today." Estrella said then smiled at the end, that was the truth. Although she tried to figure it out herself and came up with the conclusion of being six or seven weeks.
"Oh, I wish you luck then. Pregnancy definitely changes your life in ways you never thought possible."
Estrella wanted to say that anything was possible with her but didn't, instead she thanked the polite woman.
