Abaddon stalked towards the doors that opened up to Lucifer's office with regret plastered across his face. Behind him, followed Gabriel playing with a rubix cube that was given to him in hopes to keep him out of mischief. Lucifer was in a coughing fit when Abbadon opened the doors; he was coughing violently into the palms of his hands until crimson blood dripped onto his pale skin. For days he has been like this but refused continuously to go visit Estrella.
"I still stand by my suggestion to go visit Estrella," Abbadon announced and Lucifer eyed him with an angry glare. "even for twenty minutes or less."
"You can continue to suggest it and I can continue to ignore you," Lucifer growled then grasped the handkerchief he seemed to carry around frequently. "what did you want anyways?"
Abaddon stood in front of the splintery desk while Gabriel stood on the side, twisting the colorful squares with no interest in anything else happening around him.
"I would enjoy nothing more than to stand here and judge you by your stubbornness and disinterest of visiting the mother of your child," he snickered. Lucifer rolled his black eyes. "but I do carry bad news. We lost twenty more demons in battle," Abaddon paused momentarily. "all slaughtered by Archangels...obviously."
"Send out twenty more." commanded Lucifer without empathy in his voice.
"We can't, there's not another twenty trained to do what's necessary on the battlefield. They'll be slaughtered in five seconds and there's no reason to send out our weakest!"
"Any ideas then?!"
Abaddon sighed, glancing around the office before responding;
"Perhaps we should pull out..."
"Absolutely not!" Lucifer roared, slamming his fist down on the desk. "the second we do they'll be breaking their necks to get to Estrella. We continue the battle, we do whatever we have to in order to keep Estrella safe. Two more months, two more months and she'll go in labor!"
"Then what, brother? We can't keep a battle going on for decades so my niece can live a normal life on Earth," he argued. "you need to consider Danika's future. You're only thinking of the present. In two months Estrella's water will break, then what? What will happen while she's giving birth, what's going to happen the day after Danika is born, or the week after; month, year?!"
Lucifer leaned against the chair, resting his elbow on the armrest and gripping his chin in thought.
"I will decide on it."
"Well, no rush. There is a deadline here, brother." Abaddon snarled.
He turned away, creating a pace. Gabriel's attention was broken from the rubix cube and he spoke bravely.
"She can grow up here, here in the Underworld!"
His voice was filled with positivity, even he wanted to see his niece grow up. Lucifer pinched the bridge of his nose, letting his eyelids fall close.
"Estrella won't agree to stay here, let alone allow our daughter to live here."
"You're going to have to convince her," said Abaddon. "that is the only option to keep Danika safe yet alone alive."
"Tell me something I do not know, Abaddon!"
The doors slammed opened suddenly; slamming against the marble walls. A demon dressed in armor was jogging inside with a panic look on his face.
"My Lord," he said aloud and his voice was quivering with fear. The demon bowed slightly to Lucifer before continuing on with his sentence. "there's an Archangel demanding to speak to you. He's at the gates, requesting your presence, and he's only giving ten minutes for you to be there or he's coming in. I do not think that we can keep him o-"
