Alana's POV

"I can't believe we're doing this now." I mutter shaking and Aiden grins.

"Don't worry. She'll love you."

"Weren't I supposed to meet her then you propose?" I tease.

"Well things didn't go as planned did they?" He deadpanned as we walk into the house. "Ma! We're here."

Suddenly, a pretty brown skinned lady pops her head from the kitchen and I smile as she grins.

Her brown eyes sparkle as they land on our intertwined hands.

"So this is the young woman who stole my son." She teases walking up to us and Aiden rolls his eyes. "I can see why, you're as beautiful as a daisy. I'm Emerald."

"Alana." I smile and she nods.

"I've heard a lot about you." She says while pulling me into a hug. "You seem to have him wrapped around your finger cause' all he does, is swoon when he's here."

I relax into the hug as Aiden groans.

"C'mon now, let's get to the kitchen. I hope you can eat. I didn't cook all this food for nothing."

She's right.

This is a lot of food.

'"Is that.  . is that spongy chocolate cake?" I gape and she smiles.

"Like I said, he talked about you a lot." She winks and I peer up at Aiden who was purposefully avoiding my gaze.

"Aww. You really did talk about me didn't you." I poke, pinching his cheeks and he looks down at me amused.

"Pinch me one last time and we're gonna have a war." He raises an eyebrow and from then on I keep my hand to myself.

We all sit down and she demands that we clasp our hands for grace.

She put so much food on my plate that I had to take a moment to glance at Aiden.

"You don't have to eat it all babe." He whispers.

"But.  . I want. . no. . need. To impress her." I whisper back.

"Its alright baby, she's already impressed."

"Can you guys stop making me feel left out." Her pitch black hair swayed as she tilted her head, with her lips playfully pursed.

* *

The dinner was great. She asked as some questions.  . some pretty personal ones if you ask me.

"Have you guys had sex yet?" She asks bluntly and Aiden eyes widen. I blush slightly, shaking my head.

"That's great. Wait for marriage. Trust me, its worth it." We nod and when we thought it was over. . .

"You wanna know why its worth it? Because you don't need to use a condom." Aiden chokes on his water and I bite my lip, averting my eyes. "You can just keep popping babies, cause' you're already married."

"Alright mom, we-"

"That's two dollars less spending. Just go at it." I cough and Aiden tries to stop her. "That's how it happened with my late husband. We never got a kid though, but boy, did we go at it. Morning, noon and ni-"

"We must be going mom." Aiden abruptly stands grabbing my hand. "I love you!"

We hear her laughing loudly and I grin.

"I love you too pumpkin! And remember, I want grandkids!"

"I am so sorry." Aiden apologizes running his hand through his hair once we lean against his car. And I chuckle.

"For what? She's sweet."

"She's wicked, that's what she is." He grumbles, jokingly.

"Hey," I grab his chin leaning against him and he smiles at me. "She seems amazing. Don't ever think for a second that she's overbearing because some people.  .  . some people wish they could have such a bond."

He looks at me intently before nodding.

"I'm sorry. ." He says.

"No, its alright. They took their own lives after trying to take mine. Nothing to be sorry about."

"Oh.  .  .yet you miss them?"

"I miss what I can remember of them. It wasn't always bad." I correct and he tilts his head. "I told her, that I loved her Y'know. . . in my dreams. ."

"Maybe you do.  . its not all about anger sunflower. Sometimes you gotta let go." I breathe in laying my head on his chest.

"I know."
