26- Finn & Jilia

JACK's P.O.V.
Only a few days after NYE, I wake up because of all the noises coming from the kitchen
- Dad?- I ask
I walk downstairs, and get into the kitchen to find him throwing things to the wall next to me
- Dad!- I scream
He throws a plate, and a piece of glass hurts my face
I run to him and put the plates down
- Hey! What the fuck?- I whisper
- Jack... I'm so sorry. Look at you! I just hurt you
- It's okay. I'm fine
This past weeks have been TERRIBLE. Dad's cancer has got way worse and his movement is starting to get difficult. He has some periods where he can barely move because of the pain.
As he always was a very energetic man, he usually forgets about his sickness and tries to do things he can't do anymore. Sometimes he can't even cook, and he gets mad and starts making a scene just like he was doing now.
- Do you want me to...?
- No.- I interrupt him- Just sit down. Please
I walk to the bathroom, lock the door and start crying. I always try to look strong when I'm with dad. I just don't want him to see me sad
I take the glass out of my forehead and wash my face. It isn't really big, so it's okay.
Then, I grab the glass, and place it next to my left wrist. For a moment, I actually think about sliding it through my arm once again, just like the old times. Tears keep falling through my face, and as I try to convince myself not to self harm again, I hear my phone ringing
I try to stop crying and finally pick up.
- Jack?
It's Finn. I immediately throw the glass away and can't help but sobbing
- Shrimp? Are you okay?
- Can you come over?
- Yeah. I was about to tell you I'm in LA. I came to see you
- You did?
- Yeah... what's going on? Is Gavin alright?
- Y... yeah
- I'm going to your house right now. Just hang in there. Okay?
- Love you

I get out of the bathroom and run to the front door. I stay outside, waiting for Finn.
A few minutes after I come out, he appears with a straight face
- Are you okay?
I just get up and kiss him
- I'll take that as a yes.
- No, don't
- You're not okay?
- Not really.- I look at him and he caresses my wound
- Oh my God, what happened to your face?
- It was nothing.
- Did Gavin do it?
- Yeah... I have something to tell you, but you have to promise me you won't freak out
- Okay. What's up?
- Let's get in
We get to my room and I make him sit down. This is not gonna be fun
- Listen, Finn... when my parents got the divorce a few years ago, I started self harming
- What?
- I needed help but none of my friends were there when I needed them and I ended up cutting myself
- Jack...
- I know what you're gonna say... I'm an asshole, I should've never done that, but...
He interrupts me with a warm hug
- I'm so sorry... I'm sure you were desperate when that happened. I would never judge you, but please, next time you feel that way, please call me
- I just did
- Do you wanna go out?- he asks
- Not really
- What happened?

- Why did you feel like self harming?
- My dad... he's getting worse and he's loosing control.
He grabs my hands and caresses me
- I'm here, monkey. You don't need to do anything bad to yourself. I'll take care of you- he whispers

- What an amazing way to ruin the moment

FINN's P.O.V.
I go downstairs and find Gavin, sitting in the kitchen table
- Hey!
- Finn! How are you?
- I'm... fine
- Can I talk t you for a sec?
- Sure. What's up?
I sit next to him and he put his hand on my shoulder
- I need to ask you for a big favor
- What?
- I need you to take Jack out of here
- Take him out of here?- I whisper- Are you nuts?
- I'm dying, Finn. And Jack is a troubled kid. If he lives with me this little time I have left, he'll... you don't wanna see him like that
- No, you're right. I don't wanna see him like that.
- So please, take him to NYC
- I'll take him to my place, but I don't think he wants to leave you.
- He doesn't
- So what am I supposed to do?
- I'll talk to him

We stand up and he hugs me

- Dad? What are you guys doing?- Jack asks when he sees us

I walk to Jack and kiss his cheek before going to the bath
When I come out, Jack's not downstairs anymore
- Where is he?
- Packing

I just nod.
Jack runs downstairs with a big case. He grabs my hand and smiles at me
- Shall we?
I nod again and we cross Jack's front door
- Are you okay?- I ask
- I'm fine, Bubba. Thanks for accepting me back

My mom is waiting for me outside Jack's house. When he sees he's with a big case, she gets out of the car and kisses him on the cheek before asking
- Are you coming back?
- Yeah.
- That's nice, love. But is your dad okay with it?
- He told me to leave
- Oh...- she replies, confused.
- Long story- I add- Can we go?
- Of course, honey. Do you wanna go somewhere before coming back home?
- I don't. What about you, Jack?
- No. I'm fine, thank you Ms Wolfhard

I laugh and mum starts driving the car

JAEDEN's P.O.V.
I'm walking to the Buckingham's place to have lunch with Lilia when I get a text from Wyatt

"hey J, just wanted to thank u 4 taking care of me on NYE"

I close my eyes and bite my lip.

"no prob, buddy. Can we talk l8r?"

We haven't talked about the kiss and it's killing me. Wyatt keeps sending me "ILY" texts and I don't even know if he thinks we're together now or WHAT IS GOING ON!? Although he does love me, and I love him too, I already told him I'm with Lilia, and he'll have to accept it.
I get to the Buckinghams and my mum calls me
- Jaeden, sweetie. Your birthday is two days ago. What are you gonna do?
- Just invite some friends over
- That's all?
- Yeah
- I have a better plan. Just send me the guest list and I'll take care of it
- I don't think so
- Yeah, trust me. You'll like this
- Promise me it's not a stupid and boring 8 year old party

I call Lilia and she opens the front door for me

We kiss and I get in
- I'm so glad you came. Mum kept insisting in making this barbecue and Maddie is in Australia, and Millie is mad at me...

I walk through NYC just because I don't wanna stay home. I'm bored, but everyone seems to be bussy.
Jaeden had that boring barbecue with his girlfriend- ouch, it's even hard to think about J having an actual girlfriend-. Jack is in LA, Finn is with him. Sophia and Chosen are on a convention, and Jeremy is recording a new video. I have no one to go out with.
Suddenly, a reporter runs to me
- YOU'RE WYATT OLEFF!
- I am...- I fake a smile
- Can you do an interview for me?
- Um... sure. Why?
- Oh, I was out here, waiting for a celebrity and you showed up
- Really?
- No.
I laugh
- I want to be a reporter, but no channel hired me, so I'm starting my own youtube channel, and I just finished interviewing Noah Schnapp
- Oh...

- Yeah. I do
- Okay, C'mon. I'll buy you a drink

We sit at Starbucks and the reporter records everything with her iphone X, and the audio with another phone.
- So, Wyatt. What was your favourite thing while filming IT?
- Definitely the rest of the cast. The seven of us are really close to each other, so spending that summer together was REALLY funny. Besides, we made weird exercises to trust on each other and it was HILARIOUS.

- Yeah, we had a lot of fun
- Who's the funniest on set?
- Probably Jack, or Finn. If you're in a bad mood, Finn's perfect to cheer you up. If you're in a good mood, Jack's perfect to hang out with. But if you're in a bad mood and Jack does all his jokes, it'll make you mad. It happened to me
She laughs
- So when did you find out about Finn and Jack's relationship
- A while before the IT's a Wrap party. We all kinda knew anyways. Their chemistry is just... something else.
- Have you ever felt that way with someone?
- Yeah. I have
- Can you tell us who with?
- No. Not really- I laugh, a little nervous
- Are you single?
- Yeah. I am
- So can you tell us something about Chapter 2?
- Not actually. We don't know anything. We just know Andy's gonna call us to film so flashbacks but we have no idea when.

On Jaeden's birthday, I wake up with my phone full of Sophia's messages

"Lilia just made Jilia official"

"Say hbd to Jaeden"
"Sorry Wy, but they're so cute"

I just suspire and get in instagram. Lilia uploaded a pic for J's birthday. "happy birthday favorite person. thank you for being a professional sweater giver when I'm too stubborn to bring a jacket and making me smile always. I'm so lucky to be w someone like you :)"

"Of course. That's what I'm here for 🧥❤️"
Sophia's right. They're too cute. I leave my phone and go back to sleep, crying, asking myself why it took me so long to tell Jaeden that I loved him.
