chapter twenty-nine. . .
choosing our battles

MALIA KNEW THAT there was something in which was going on between Ben, Jace and Clary, something which she hadn't been filled in and which had caused her distance. Jace was her brother and Ben was...was her boyfriend? Malia had chosen to spend some more time with Zane, the Davenport being by her side he knew that she wanted him to be there. As much as the Davenport worked in medical he had managed to create some time for himself and Malia to have. He knew where her concerns laid and it was with Luke and trying to find him as he had been missing for far too long, he was mourning and the way he might've been doing it was probably not right. Finding him was a priority and was what she planned to spend her time doing.

"So," Zane had broken part of the Reese's from the chocolate he held in his possession as he sat in the passenger seat of Malia's car as they drove towards the Jade Wolf in order to talk to Alaric. Not only were Malia and Zane eager to find Luke but as so was Simon who they were meeting outside of the Jade Wolf. "coming from Simon, Alaric and the pack are giving up looking for Luke?" He questioned.

"It's complete bull if you ask me." Malia replied as she slowly turned her wheel to where the Jade Wolf sat on the docks. "I know that Luke needs someone right now and it is as if they don't even care about him."

"Well, we'll find him." Zane reassured as finished the remains of his chocolate. "We will find him and bring him home, okay?"

    "Okay."

Malia's foot had made away from the accelerator to the brake as they pulled up in front of the Chinese restaurant that homed the werewolves. "I just want to put it out there that I do not like Alaric." Zane told as they unbuckled themselves from the car seats to get out of the Range Rover. "He's an ass."

The Bellerose couldn't help but chuckle as she slammed her car door behind her and another echoed behind her by Zane. "Werewolves have sharp hearing." Malia reminded as Simon had made a hurried approach towards the two Shadowhunters. "He's probably heard what you said."

    "Shoot!"

"Hey, Simon." Malia greeted before embracing him into a hug in greeting. "have you talked to Alaric, yet?" She asked.

"No. I was waiting for you guys."

Malia hummed in response before she had gestured for her friends to follow after her into the Jade Wolf. Alaric had irritation to their presence as he knew it had something to do with Luke who he had given up looking for. Malia doubted if Alaric knew the definition of friendship as he lacked it. A glare couldn't help but plaster its way onto her face as she looked at the werewolf who had sudden chilled back to where he didn't care about searching for Luke any longer. It seemed that none of the members of Luke's pack seem to have cared as much as the three other supernatural creatures.
