Chapter Nine: You...Hit...Me

**Deku's pro**

Y/n and I walked to school together. It was exciting since y/n didn't say anything at all. She blankly looked off. I wanted to help but, I shouldn't help if she doesn't want or need it. I rubbed her back.
"Hey, it's going to be alright, alright?"
"Thanks, Deku."
She sniffed a bit. She was starting to tear up.
"I'm here for you. Okay?'
" Okay."
She stopped looking so sad and put a smile on her face.
"Deku, does this cheer you?"
"Yes, babe."
"Hey, you called me babe."
"You don't what me to call you babe?"
"No, but don't do it inside school, okay?"
"Yes, I promise."
"You better."

**Y/n's pro**

We walked inside. I acted like nothing but the usual happened. I went and sat in my seat. Todoroki was sitting beside me again.
"Hey Todo!"
"To...do?"
"I dunno, I kinda like it tho."
"You call me Todoroki, Shoto and now.... Todo. Why?"
"Cause I can."
"Ugh. I'll never know why."
"Heehee."
Class began and it ended as fast as it did. Lunch time was now in business!
I grouped up with Deku, Iida, Uraraka, and Redhead.
"We all here?"
I asked. I counted.
"Yup and I call-"
"DIBS!"
Redhead and I called dibs. We raced over to get our food.
"Hey I was here first Redhead!"
"No, I was Copycat!"
"Oh yeah!"
"Oh yeah, I'll beat up you for first."
"You'll end up hurt!"
We were cut off by a certain blue-haired hedg- I mean blue hair dude.
"JUST HURRY UP, I DON'T CARE WHOSE FIRST, JUST GO!"
"Jeez, sorry, we'll go now."
Redhead went after me.
"Hey Redhead, you get to choose the seat."
"Okay, fine." He grumbled.
He quickly found a seat and we ran to it. Good thing no one else wanted that seat, since we're the freak show friends. I looked around for Deku and them. I quickly spotted them from the crowd. I yelled to Deku and jumped up and down while waving me hand. Deku realized me and told the others. They started to walk towards us.
"Hey,y/n!"
He sat his tray down but stood there. I ran up to him and gave him a big hug.
"Deku! Come on sit down already."
"Copycat, I'm still suspicious about the you and Todoroki thing."
"Oh, you are now?"
"Maybe."
"You never say why tho."
"I don't need to Copycat."
"Whatever."
We all sat back down. I'm pretty sure that everyone thinks that we're a freak show couple or something. It kinda makes sense. We started sitting by each other a few days ago. We're very similar. I looked around our table. Everyone had elbow room. The table was bigger than most. I looked around. I've never seen Todoroki standing with no one. No one was talking to him. No one waving towards him. I thought about waving but I dunno. He looked around. He caught me looking at him. I quickly looked away. I don't think he'd seen me. I looked back up and saw Todoroki walking over again. . I just went back to listening to everyone.
"Ah, I can't wait until the sports festival! Right, Copycat?"
"Yeah, Redhead! I'll fuck yo shit up."
Redhead decided to stand up and yell
"Everyone, Copycat here will fuck yo shit up!"
And then he sat back down. We were laughing our asses off while everyone else at the table was shocked with embarrassment and why. They were shaking their head like 'why? What's wrong with you people'.
I heard some giggling in the silence during when Redhead stood up. After a few seconds I felt pain in my cheek. It stung bad. It's like fire and ice rubbing against my skin. I looked over and saw Todoroki. He'd slapped me. Tears ran down my face.
"Todo......why?"
He didn't answer.
"Why...did you ...hit ..me?"
He still didn't answer.
I grabbed his collar and asked again.
"Why did you hit me!?"
No answer again.
"Why...........why? I just wanna know."
Tears started to go down his face.  I decided to hug him.
"Hey,I'm sorry, y/n. I didn't know what went through my head."
"It's okay."
I patted his back and pushed him off.
"It's okay Todo."
"I'm..so..sorry. I-"
"Hey, I'm not mad, you had a reason to hit me."
"I didn't have ant reason to hit you, tho!?"
"There had to be."
"No there wasn't!"
"Think about it, Todo. What would you of hit me for?"
He didn't say anything back to me. It took a few moments.
"I...guess... Because, you're act much like......"
"Like what?"
"My...mom."
More tears fell down his face.
"I don't know your mom but whatever you say. If I act like your mom, then I'll accept the hit to the face."
"How are letting this slide!? Shouldn't you be mad!?"
"No, not......really."
I looked over at Deku. He had a worried look on him. He was the only one who knew. Todoroki wouldn't really understand.  He hugged me once again.
"Todo, thanks."
"I'm doing it for any particular reason. You just look down."
"Thanks anyways."
He pushes me away and walked away.
"Hey, Copycat, you alright?"
"Yah, Redhead."
Everyone one at our table for sure was talking about what happened.
"Copycat, I'll always be here for ya."
He did a thumbs up for me.
"Yeah, We will too."
Uraraka, Iida, and Deku joined in as well.
"Thanks you, guys."
I started to tear up again. The tears didn't fall.
"Hey, y/n. Come on, let's hurry to class."
"Okay, Deku."
We hurried to class.

**Time skipped after class**

I went to my locker. I opened it up and got my stuff. I got a note that says
'Meet me in behind school. Tomorrow after school.'
Great. I gotta go somewhere tomorrow. I walked to Deku's house with him. We got to his house. And went to his room.
Deku sighed.
"What are we going to do?"
"About what?"
"The sports festival of course!"
"I dunno, Deku. My quirk can't do to much."
"Why not? You can copy quirks."
"I have to touch them. And our quirks have nothing to do with each other. So we can't really be on a team together."
"I guess you're right."
"We'll have to be rivals through this."
"Darn it, even couples can't really be on a team."
"Well, I'm going think about it more during the festival."
"Why wait to think then?"
"It's easier on me."
"I guess so."
"Well I'm going to be late coming home tomorrow, so don't wait for me. I got something to do after school."
"Okay, what is it?"
"I dunno,it's a secret."
"Ahh, why can't you tell me?"
"Because it's a secret."
"Okay."

**A/n**
Yeah another chapter finished! A few more chapters until the festival! I might do a Christmas special closer to Christmas time or maybe on Christmas. I dunno yet.
