I could feel the anxiety bubbling up in my chest, making me shake and keeping me from breathing properly. I groaned loudly in annoyance and pressed down on the gas, not having the time for a mental breakdown at the moment. I was speeding down the street trying to get to Kira's house as fast as I possibly could. I had a feeling she wouldn't be there, but I had to make sure and hopefully find some clues to where she might be, at least.

As I neared her home I squinted into the darkness and noticed a blue jeep right outside. I saw Stiles and Lydia run towards an unconscious Scott lying on the ground.

I stopped the car abruptly and ran out towards them, the anxiety grew when I couldn't see her and my voice came out louder than I intended, "Where is she? Where is Kira?"

"Aspen? What are you doing here?" Stiles said as the three of them turned around to look at me.

"She wasn't answering, but I continued to call and when she did answer it wasn't her voice-" The lump in my throat made it difficult for me to continue my sentence and the harder I tried to swallow it down, the worse it got. I could feel myself starting to shake again, my breathing ragged.

Stiles walked up to me and grabbed me by the shoulders, "Hey, it's going to be all right, we'll find her, okay?"

As I looked into his golden eyes, I felt myself calm down and nodded, "Okay."

"You said it wasn't her voice, do you know whose it was?" Stiles asked with his hands still holding onto me, keeping me from crumbling.

"Uh, no, but it was a man's voice." They turned to look at each other as if they already knew who the voice belonged to, "What's going on?"

"Barrow, he took Kira." Scott said, his voice filled with worry, "He was after her the whole time."

"Why?" I questioned, confused.

"We don't know." Scott continued and soon the weird conversations I had overheard were about to make sense. Well, they might. He sighed and turned to Lydia, "Do you hear anything now?"

"Nothing. I feel like I can do this, but I don't know what to do. It's like it's on the tip of my tongue and I don't know how to trigger it." The confusion I felt was evident on my face, but I didn't interrupt her as she spoke, intrigued by what might happen next. "I just, I swear to God, it literally makes me want to scream."

"Okay, then scream," I spoke up and they all looked at me for a moment, surprised.

"Lydia, scream," Stiles said and when she did my hands flew up to cover my ears, the street lamps closest to us exploding one by one. When she stopped it was so quiet, I thought I had gone deaf.

"It's not flies, It's electricity." She finally said, a distant look on her face.

"Wait a second, Barrow was an electrical engineer. He worked at a power substation." Stiles said and looked around at us.

"What substation?" Scott questioned.

"Eagle Rock substation."

"What are we waiting for then? Let's go!" I said and started to make my way towards Stiles' jeep. However, as I placed my hand on the door handle, Stiles grabbed my arm and made me look up at him.

"Look, this is dangerous, are you-" I interrupted him, already knowing where he was going with this.

"I'm not going to just sit here and wait while my best friend is held captive by some deranged criminal, so either I come with you or I go alone."

"All right, let's go then!" He said and got into the driver's seat, taking off the second we were all inside.

When we arrive at the substation a little while later, Scott jumps out of the car before it had even stopped and runs inside. I open the door to head out, but Stiles stops me, looking at me and Lydia sitting in the back.

"Wait here, all right? Just wait for the cops to come."

"What, why?" I said with my brows furrowed.

"I only got one bat." I stare at him for a moment, wondering if he was being serious. He was. I rolled my eyes at him and got out of the car, heading inside. I could hear Stiles groan behind me as he and Lydia followed suit. "Can you at least stay behind me?"

Before I had a chance to open my mouth, we see Barrow smack Scott with the live wire he was holding, sending him flying. We stop dead in our tracks and I noticed Kira was tied up on the floor with dirty extension cords. Stiles places his arm in front of me when I try to take a step towards Kira, shaking his head.

"Don't! She's not the one you want!" Scott yells out as Barrow walks closer to Kira with the wire. "No, don't! Stop!"

Barrow ignores Scotts cries and turns back to Kira, touching her with the wire. I yell out and try running to her, but yet again, Stiles stands in front of me and holds me in place. I keep trying to break free, but he doesn't budge.

Suddenly Kira glows a blinding bright white and Barrow is blown backward. When the light subsides, Kira is standing and it looks like she's absorbing the electricity into her hands.

The lights begin to flicker and eventually everything goes dark.
