Yuri is incredibly intelligent and it is not just because he is half asain.
That would be like saying his father is in a gang because he is hispanic-American.
Yuri's father, however, is in a gang so, it is not a good example.
Because his father is in a gang, Yuri has forced himself to become intelligent so he will have the chance to escape to college and leave his father's fate in the dust. He was not born with his intelligence. Yuri was born as an average person with an average brain. However, now he is one of the smartest people in his school. Unfortunately, he wants nobody to know.
His fists often do most of his talking, and kids like to stay out of his business.
Yuri remembers the name first time he got in a fight. He came home, with blood on his hands that were not his own and his father and his 'friends' cheered him on.
Yuri hated the violence inside him, but he was his father's son and like father like son, right?
