A seventeen year old boy was beaten and shot through the temple by his father late last night. Neighbors heard a commotion inside the house and proceeded to call the police once they heard a bullet being fired. Upon arriving at the scene, sources confirm that the boy was no longer breathing. The boy's mother, an immigrant from Asia, was out of the house at that time, but confirms that the father was physically and emotionally abusive to them both. Sources believe that the boy was confronting his father, who is part of a local community gang. (Turn to page 5 for more on this current investigation.) A suicide note was found in the boy's room at it is believed that he was planning to kill himself before his father arrived home early. Although the investigation is still underway, the father is being tried with first degree manslaughter. We at The Community Times will keep you posted with any new updates regarding this story.
