"Heaven you fool? Did you ever hear of any pirates going thither? Give me hell, it's a merrier place: I'll give Roberts a salute of 13 guns at entrance."

— Thomas Sutton

Ava's giggles filled the apartment as they busted in, Sam trying his best to hold onto Ava as he locked the apartment door.

Her wobbly steps didn't make the job any easy.

"Nora?" Sam called out for some help when Ava dipped so suddenly that Sam had to catch her in his arms, forcing her to stand up. "Nora!"

The apartment seemed empty and it was awfully quiet. "Hey, Nora? You there?"

"I think she's asleep. Shhhhh." Ava shushed Sam as she placed her finger on his lips, giggling madly.

"Alright, I don't think you go well with alcohol." Sam sighed before wrapping his arm around her knees and lifting her up to rest on his shoulder. At the sudden action, Ava squealed in delight.

Trying to open Nora's door was a failed attempt, he sighed to himself and guessed that maybe Nora was still with Nathan.

"C'mon, sweetheart, let's get you to bed, hm?" Sam said as he kicked her door open, sitting her on her bed.

"Alright, you just, uh...do what you gotta do and I'll be right outside." Before Sam could awkwardly leave the room, Ava called out to him in a drowsy voice.

"Sammy, can you...my joggers. Closet." She said as she yawned loudly, the tears willing up at the corner of her eyes.

Sam obeyed the drunk woman and searched her closet, the moment he turned around, the sight of Ava shrugging off her jeans almost made him drop the red pants while his mouth gaped.

"Why don't you continue when I-"

"I need your help." Ava said with a pout, staring up at him with big eyes.

Sam tried his best not to peek at her butt as he helped her shrug off the jeans and dressed her in her joggers. He removed her leather jacket but abruptly stopped Ava when she wanted to remove her shirt.

"Alright c'mon." Sam lead the woman under the covers and tucked her in, he kissed her forehead before bidding her goodnight.

Ava's hand caught his fingers before he could walk out.

"Something else, dear?" Sam sang with a grin.

"Do you have to go home?" Ava's sweet tone melted Sam in his spot, how could he refuse such sweet pleading? "Can you stay for the night? I don't wanna be alone."

Sam sighed, agreeing. He removed his shoes and tossed them on the other side of the room. Smoothly, he laid next to her and turned off the lamp. It took a few minutes for his eyes to adjust in the dark, he waited for sleep to come but it never did.

Instead, Ava shifted towards him, wrapping her warm thighs around his waist as her arms hugged his abdomen. As if by instinct, Sam wrapped his arms around her waist, bringing her closer to his warm body.

"Sammy?" She called out in the dark.

"Avy?"

"I'm glad I stole your money."

Sam couldn't help but chuckle, "and I'm glad you did." He furrowed his eyebrows and laughed at his own words, "I never thought I'd say that in my life, ever."

With Ava on top of him, his long fingers sneaked up to her head and played with her hair until he felt her grip loosen and her breathing was more slow and relaxed. She fell asleep on him and soon, Sam's palm rested on her head and he slipped into a calm sleep.

The pounding in her head and her sore body was mainly the reason Ava woke up. But the body underneath her almost sent her in a fret.

As Ava gasped and pulled herself up, Sam's eyes fluttered open, "what? What's wrong?"

"W-what do you mean what's wrong? Why are you here!" Ava's hands gripped the sheet only to cover herself.

She failed to realize that she wasn't naked and that she was still on Sam.

"You told me to stay with you last night!" His voice was still laced in sleep and he tried to adjust himself to sit up.

Suddenly, Ava's eyes almost popped out of her skull as her mouth gaped, "we didn't...we didn't do it...did we?"

A wild smirk plastered across the man's lips, "all I'm gonna say is...even when you're drunk, you're pretty freaky."

At the sight of horror on Ava's face, Sam couldn't help but burst in laughter, his loud laugh echoed thru the hall where Sullivan and Nora were.

"I'm just messing with you, doll. We did nothing but sleep. I promise!"

"You are an asshole, Sam!" Ava slapped his shoulder and sighed in relief, the sharp pounding in her head soon returned.

Sam and Ava were quiet, but Ava could see the amused look on Sam's face. At first she didn't realize what the man was thinking until she remembered her thighs were wrapped around his waist and she was sitting on his groin.

"I'm...I'm gonna just...yeah, I'm just gonna get up now." Ava said shyly as she peeled herself off of the man who stared at her with a raise brow.

She frowned at the man's expression and got off the bed slowly, "why are you looking at me like that?"

"So, you don't remember anything from last night?" Sam asked in curiosity as he stretched his soar limbs and put on his t-shirt that he threw on the floor the other night.

"Not really, no. Is there something wrong?"

"Well, uh, no, no. Nothing wrong. Just wonderin'." Ava nodded her head, unable to reply all of a sudden.

She stood awkwardly in front of Sam, "well...I'm pretty sure Nora made some breakfast. We should eat."

"Oh I'm starved!" Sam got up on his feet and ushered out of the room but Ava couldn't help but shove a feeling off of her chest. She didn't know what it was, but she presumed if she remembered last night, she'd know what it was.
