I couldn't find the right outfit. It's been around 45 minutes and I still can't find anything. I finally pulled out a blue dress. I looked at it for a moment, and put it on. It felt comfy, and easy to move around in. I looked in my full length mirror next to my (quite old) desk. I liked it. I liked how I looked in it. I smiled at myself, a real smile. I turned around to sit on my bed. I slipped on my converse, and played around with my hair to make it look at least a little better. Ready, I thought. This year would be better than the last. I'll get to see all of my friends again, every single day, and not have to go home until 2:30. I walked away from the mirror and picked up my (also quite old) backpack. I flew my squeaky door open and ran out into the living room. Man I wish we had a bigger house, I always wished. I found my dad sitting in his giant chair, drinking a beer.

"Bye daddy," I said, giving him a peck on the cheek, as usual. I as I headed for the door I heard his voice, and I stopped.

"What are you doing, Sophia?" I heard him ask. I turned around and looked at him.

"I'm going to school, daddy," I said quietly, afraid that he'd yell about something.

"What are you wearing?" He asked, looking at me up and down.

"Oh, um-" I stammered. "I found it in my closet, I thought it looked nice".

"No, Sophia. It makes you look like a slut," beer in his hand. I looked at him, taking a deep breath. "Go change, now," he said, firmly. I walked back into my room to change.
