Okay, okay, I know what you're thinking: why has this moron updated? Well, I had this one Mericcup scene I never published that I wanted you people to see. . . Also I  love you and I can't mail gifts to all of you for the new year. Well anyway:

Mer's POV:

I walked into the bookstore looking for Hiccup, I walked up to the counter "Hey Astrid, how's it going?" she smiled a little "Not so good actually, you?" Instead of answering her question I asked her "What's wrong?" Astrid shook her head slightly

"My girlfriend and I agreed to take a break a few weeks ago and I thought for sure we'd be back together in no time, but we're not!" I frowned

"Have you spoken to her and told her how you feel? Astrid looked up, her eyes watery

"No. . . "

"Do that." I said then "Have you by any chance seen Hiccup?" Astrid smirked slyly

"You like him don't you?" I was going to deny it, then I gave her a tiny nod and she said

"He's in the back bringing out the latest shipment  of books. Take your own advice." I smiled and nodded, firmer this time.

I made my way to the back where I could hear footsteps. As I approached I saw Hiccup, his sleeves rolled up to his forearms. "Hi." I said in a way that I could almost not hear myself, but Hiccup looked up and smiled brightly "Hey Merida, can I help you with anything?" Yes, come over here and kiss me you idiot, I'm sick of just imagining it's you when I have to kiss Eugene! "Uh. . . er, I-I wanted to ask you about Catching Fire" Hiccup smiled

"I get off work right after I put away these books. You can come to my house after that and I'll lend you the book so you don't have to buy it." I nodded

"I'd like that." With that, he made his way to the entrance of the shop and started putting away books. By the time he was done it was just the two of us in the shop. "So sorry Mer, let's go!" he said as he locked the store and put up the sign indicating it was closed. We drove to his house and I smiled as I saw the only stone structure in the neighborhood, like, it was made of actual stone! Hiccup smiled embarrassed "My parents are big believers in following the path of our ancestors." He led me into the house and I jumped when I heard a loud bark "That's Toothless." He held his arms open and a huge black dog jumped into his arms "Hey Bud!" Hiccup smiled while patting the dog. I looked over the dog then gasped when I saw he was missing a large part of his tail. Toothless is a rescue dog, we adopted him from the pound when I was eight, he had been used by his previous owner in illegal dog fights, so he's missing some teeth and some tail, but he's a good dog." Hiccup grabbed my hand gently, his touch was hesitant, as if he thought I would fall apart, or I would run away if he held my hand.

Hiccup led me to his room which was filled with books and posters of bands I liked. "Here." he handed me a copy of the  second book of the series. He sat on his bed and I hesitantly sat facing him. Hiccup looked like a cornered dog. "Hey. . ." I whispered there was something in his eyes, something I could not recognize. I had to tell him quick! I had to take Astrid's advice and tell  him my feelings. "Hey back. . ." he whispered

"I hope Katniss realizes she loves Peeta. . ." I now knew what the glint in his eyes meant. . . he was going to kiss me, and oh my gosh, I've waiting for this "Me too. . ." he murmured while leaning forward. We were so close. . . so damn close. . . a little bit more. . .

Crap! His crazy dog beat me to it and licked all over Hiccup's face "Toothless! You know this doesn't wash off" he gave me a sideways look "Thanks for nothing you  useless canine!" I sill wanted to kiss him, but the moment was gone. . . "Drive you home? he asked and I nodded looking at the floor

"Yeah."
