Having been out on two blind dates in the past few weeks, I was thankful that Andie hadn't tried to set up another, given that today is Valentine's Day. In fact, she was so distracted by how own plans for this evening, that she's totally overlooked me which made me the happiest I've been in quite a while, as sad as that is to admit.

"Knock, knock," a voice spoke from the doorway. Looking up, I see the bright smile of Ruth Welch beaming at me from the doorway of my office, a large bouquet of flowers in her hands. I give her a bemused grin, pointing at the flowers and asking if she had a secret admirer. Ruth laughs and walks into my office, holding out the flowers to me. "Actually, these are for you. I intercepted them at reception while picking up my mail and thought I'd bring them up. Lyanna Saunders, are you the one with a secret admirer?"

Taking the flowers from Ruth, I search through them to find the card. Finding the small cream envelope, I see that the bouquet is from Pulbrook & Gould, a dead giveaway on who sent the flowers. That, and the fact that they were mixed Tulips, my favourites. Still, I open the envelope and see the message written inside.

"Who are they from?" Ruth pressed, just as Andie walked into the room and asked, "Who sent you flowers?"

Handing over the card, I leave the office to go to the little nook on our floor, finding the vase that we always kept for our just-in-case moments. Filing it with water, the hair on my arms stand to attention and a shiver goes down my spine as I feel a presence behind me. Slowly looking over my shoulder, I see Michael watching me with a twisted look on his face, his eyes moving to the flowers that were on the worktop. For a split second, I swore I could see jealousy written on his facial features but just as I inched closer to see it clearly, a forced smile overwrote all other emotions.
