I'm wearing a shit eating grin and I know it. I can feel my cheeks burning from the constant smile I'm showcasing but more than that, I know I'm deliriously happy because I have spent the past few days thinking about Lyanna and even now, I can't bring myself to stop thinking about her. The tiniest thing makes my thoughts turn to her; this morning I was making coffee in the office and I caught a glimpse of her mug and it set me off, thinking about waking up in the morning, Lyanna in bed next to me, me creeping out quietly to make breakfast in bed for her and then spending the rest of the day doing absolutely nothing but lying next to each other and talking. It's no wonder I burnt my hand with boiling water and spent the next ten minutes holding it under cold water to soothe the pain.

Then when I walked into my office, I literally walked into my office, slamming my forehead against the glass door. The noise of human versus glass reverberated around our floor, making Lyanna and Andie stare at me weirdly. What they didn't know was that I walked into the door because I was too busy watching Lyanna laughing along to something that Andie had said to her.

After that, I decided to just sit in the office and not touch anything or move an inch, just in case. The smile never left my face though because while I couldn't touch anything or move, it didn't mean I couldn't think about stuff, Lyanna in particular. I recalled the dinner we had with my friends last week and how they all text me the next morning to tell me that they all adored Lyanna and that she was more than welcome to join us all again, preferably as my official girlfriend next time around. Sophie was the most demanding to have Lyanna join the group again; I've received a text every day from her, wondering if I've asked Lyanna out again. Each time I reply with 'not yet', I get a 'hurry the fuck up' text back.

"Ok, so I come bearing news," my best friend's voice fills the silence as he storms through the door and plonks himself down in the chair opposite me. I raise an eyebrow at him but say nothing, instead, waiting for him to elaborate on the news he brings with him. "There are three bits of news. I'll start with the least exciting. So, Léa had her check up today with ENT and she passed her latest hearing test. Sophie and Dan are very excited about the prospect of having a good night's sleep, finally, but to be honest, Léa will soon start teething so sleep is not in their immediate future."
